I know nothing about Peyronies Disease, please help!

I have several questions on Peyronies Disease, please help me if you can. This is very distressing and frustrating.

a) My penis bends a little bit to the left but it's not painful and doesn't prevent me from having sex. How do I know if it's Peyronies Disease?

b) Can congenital curvature be corrected, as well? How?

c) Is the infamous plaque or scar tissue visible to the naked eye or palpable? What does it look/feel like?

d) I couldn't find anything on these forums about the electric toothbrush theory. There are many positive testimonials, is this really an effective solution to Peyronies Disease?

Other better-informed veterans can chime in here.

But it sounds like you probably just have congenital curvature, which is nothing to freak out about.

First off, read the survival guide on this forum.

a) You should get an exam from a competent urologist/andrologist that is an expert in peyronie's that gives you a manual exam to palpate for plaques as well as a color double doppler ultrasound. If he induces an erection, which he should (because diagnosing venous leakage should be done erect and not flaccid), avoid bimix. Have him use something else. But if you don't have peyronie's or erectile dysfunction, this is a moot point. And you have bigger fish to fry at the moment anyway. Do not ever under any circumstances allow the doctor to push the "wait and see" approach. Tackle this immediately. Like yesterday.

B) Sort of, but you can read up on that in this forum. Traction can be helpful to a certain degree. But I am not an expert in this area.

C) Usually it is. If it is calcified or will be hard like a BB if it is still small. It usually starts out small. Sometimes it feels cord like. Often it will progress and spread. Most of the time it is either dorsal or ventral. Usually, depending on whether you have this plaque from an injury or if from the "autoimmune-type" peyronie's it will start out soft. Soft plaque=better.

Sometimes a doctor can't feel the plaque. If it is soft or small it might not even show up on an ultrasound. This does not necessarily mean you don't have peyronie's. If you have a curve or hourglassing, something is amiss regardless. But if congenital, nothing is wrong. You probably would not have any plaque or anything to worry about.

D) Electric toothbrush is pretty much b.s.

If you have peyronie's you would have painful erections or erectile dysfunction or a variety of other things wrong.

Get checked by a doc and do some reading here before any freaking out. Not necessary at this point.

If you've always had this curvature when erect your good w no problems...just a natural cogenital curve!

Samsung gave you some good advice and sound answers.  The only thing I would clarify is that plaque is not visible in the sense that you have a surface scar on your skin.  The plaque is under the skin but it could be visible during an erection as a bump under the skin.  That is not always the case, however.  

Most bends are just natural variations from one penis to another.  A penis is seldom perfectly round and straight any more than noses are all the same shape.

I have an extremely large plaque mass on my dorsal side, running from near the base of my penis about 2/3 of the length. At it's widest it is as wide as my penis. Urologists are universally shocked by its overall size. The plaque is not visible, but can very easily be felt. Originally, the Peyronie's resulted in an almost 90 degree bend, with severe hour glassing, which made my penis weak (bend) mid-shaft. After 100's of hours mounted in a traction device, (which is less than pleasant BTW) I reduced the curve by half. But it was uncomfortable to painful, but did produce positive results. At least for me.

IMHO, if you have plaque, you will be able to feel it with your fingers, and no one knows your dick better than you do. The plaque can present in many different ways, from a bump to something that feels like a solid plate, which is what mine is. If the curve has always been there and doesn't interfere with sex and your erections are strong and solid, to me, it sounds congenital and probably doesn't require attention. If it changes, or you begin to feel something hard under the skin of your penis, see a good urologist. To ease your mind, a visit right now would be beneficial and a wise moved. Good luck.

Hawk, if the plaque isn't visible other than "during an erection", what do you call the lumps that some of us have? They are always visible btw, both erect and flaccid. They are very soft however. Would this be beginning of scarring? Or what exactly would you call that?

I have no idea what you are looking at.  I suppose you could have such a large plaque that you could see a lump under the skin flaccid but if it is that large you would likely have a huge deformity when erect.  Maybe you are looking at a vein

Thanks for your answer, Hawk. But your answer is quite the contrary of what I've learned.
I thought soft lumps were very usual in Peyronie's, but when a guy as educated as you hasn't heard about it - it really gets me worked up haha. I understand some of us mix up veins with peyronie's because of paranoia, but no, I have soft "speed-bump" like lumps spread all over the tunica.
Some other experts I've talked to say these are the beginning of scars, since the body indeed "sends" scar tissue out across healthy tissue in Peyronies, these lumps are soft and and they do not constrict too much blood flow. They also don't cause any deformity of a big scale - but they do cause thinning. However, I have noticed (after a few months with oral treatment) that the thinning have reversed. So it makes sense that these soft lumps I have are not big villains when it comes down to the struggle in the long run. They seem to be responding very fast to oral treatment.
But again, it's very noteworthy how I haven't come across more than a few souls that also experience these soft lumps.
Lastly I wanna add that, I do have a hard plaque and a scar on my dorsal side like most of you people are familiar with. They are only visible and causes deformity in erect state. They are also what causes my "real" problems so to say.
