I just completed round 2 of xiaflex this AM.

During round one and even a few days prior I started experiencing severe pain.  While flaccid and erect. All day. During the whole 6 weeks before doing the 2nd set of shots. And the pain has not abated.

I could not do any modeling during this time.

According to everyone on this forum you shouldn't do traction/modeling when you are in pain because it causes more inflammation and more plaque.

Dr. Eid said that you start modeling 2 days after the 2nd injection despite pain. That xiaflex is a waste of time without traction.

Only one of you is correct.

Dr. Eid says this forum is just anecdotal stuff. On that point he is correct but it is hard to ignore the same story 100s of times.

So my question is, should I do the modeling anyway?

It all ends in an implant in my opinion anyway so I am leaning towards who cares if it does more damage. It is just tearing my mind apart when there are two opposing opinions on everything about this disease.

The difference between the forum and Dr Eid, is that he knows your case specifically—I'd follow his instructions and try the modeling as he suggests even w the pain.

Thanks Tony. I'm going to. I even said to Dr. Eid, "you wouldn't play tennis if you hurt your shoulder," to which he said, "yeah, but if you don't do the physical therapy you'll get a frozen shoulder."

I also did some traction, manual stretching 3x a day as described in the Xiaflex booklet, starting 48 hours after each shot in round one as recommended by my uro. I was still in some pain at the time but it was bearable and supposedly that's when stretching could be most beneficial.

However, the erections I've had since have not been encouraging. There's an slight increase in curve, slight loss of size, a new bump here and indention there. I'm concerned that I made things worse.

Not a lot of easy answers with Peyronies. :(
Early 40's. Completed 4 rounds (8 shots) of Xiaflex in early 2020. Using low-dose Cialis and Citrulline to maintain decent results.

I wouldn't worry too much about erection quality for the first couple weeks after xiaflex. It was like that for me after round 1. Then erection improved. I thought it was more curved at first too, but was just my imagination. Curve didn't improve though.

I think that you should do traction and modeling even if you have mild pain, I'm just afraid to recommend this to anyone. You want it to heal straight and get the inflammation out of there, which traction will do.

Thanks Neo. I've started doing hand modeling 3x daily for about 10 minutes each. Pulling straight, then against the curve for 30 sec. ea. time. The pain has subsided quite a bit in the last few days. Ever since he did the 2nd shot of round 2 something seems to have affected the pain. I've been using an topical pentox/verapamil/vit. E. compound. That might be it, but I doubt it. I think the 2nd shot moved some part of the plaque that was impinging on a nerve. Who knows. I'm going to take it slow and ease back into regular traction. Not sure if I'll use restorex or not because last time that really hurt me. We shall see.
