Urologist: "It's probably just an irritated penis, give it a few weeks"

Introducing myself.
30 years old. Not sure, whether I belong here, but the urologist today didn't seem to provide me with any clear answer, so I'm seeking help from people who know how Peyronies progresses. I'll be grateful from any insight into my situation.

Circa three weeks ago, I had one night of a rough, drunken, long (much too long) sex. The next morning, there was a sharp pain in the right side of my penis, and a swelling (ar perhaps a long lump?) approx. in the middle of of the length of my shaft, going all the way around the right half of my penis. The lump is definitely below the skin, somewhat solid, but soft to touch. When pressing with my finger against it, I can feel a sort of small furrow around the half of the shaft where the swelling is. The swelling remained unchanged in the last three weeks, while the pain has gotten significantly worse. In the first week, I actually masturbated a few times without problems - feat too painful now to be successfully completed (or even attempted)... No chance of sex either. In fact - even my morning erections cause me to wake up from pain. However, there is no curvature.

I've been to a urologist today. He basically told me it's probably just an "irritated penis" and that it will go away by itself. When I mentioned peyronies, he more or less laughed at me, saying "You would know if you had peyronies, because there would be curvature".
Well, what I'm actually afraid of is that I hurt myself in a way that will lead to creation of a scar tissue/plague.
What were your early signs of peyronies disease? Should I try going to a different urologist, or should I just wait for the pain and swelling to either go away, or for a sign of a curvature to appear?
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond. I'll also gladly answer any question.

Sounds like a hematoma which is painful and takes time to resolve

Hello TDix and thanks for your response.
There is absolutely no discoloration whatsoever. And the pain is very localized - exactly where the indentation is. Would that also be consistent with hematoma, in your opinion?

Just my opinion, since I've had them.  Keep your eye on it, and stay away from doing anything to irritate it.  If you still have pain in a few weeks I'd see another dr, preferably a specialist like an andrologist

Put a flashlight up to the swelling, if it's blue, it's a lymphatic vessel.

Either way though, penile swelling and trauma is damage, and that should be taken seriously, which means you need to rest your penis and not erection check. Rest it until you have no pain, and slowly retrain your penis to function again without pain over time by masturbating correctly and only once a week or so, in my opinion.

I think a urologist is very unlikely to help you, since you have no scarring or anything they can treat with a drug or surgery at this time. Treat this like a broken arm, and do not masturbate early or irritate it. Eat an anti-inflammatory diet and rest your penis. If curvature develops at all, traction and VED can fix it. In my opinion, as long as one does not have pain with gentle traction, it's wise to do it once a day ONLY TO MAX STRETCH LENGTH, and without any tension, necessarily. I say this because I know that night time erections are not always enough to stretch the penis out and remodel it. That's why I recommend traction by hand only to max flaccid stretch length early on. Of course, if it hurts don't do it. Personally I say just wait it out.

Penile damage can take MONTHS and even years to go away. I had a lymphatic injury that took two whole years to clear up.

EDIT: Yes, please educate yourself on the drugs and supplements for the disease as well. The survival guide is a good place to start.

The problem with injuries to the penis is that inflammation can get "trapped" cause the blood flow isn't as consistent like for example in your arms.. the inflammation lingers on and the body encapsules it(hard plaque).
So yes, probably you don't have peyronies but this could turn into it.

I personally(!!!) would treat the site immediately with daily anti inflammatory transdermal applications of an anti inflammatory agent(for example DMSO + ascorbic acid + castor oil - alternative treatment forum). Oral can help too but there's always the chance due to position of the penis that it doesn't reach the site. In any case.. inform yourself of the options. read through the forums.

Get started by reading the survival guide just in case it's early peyronies:  https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3180.msg44057.html#msg44057
If no pain and done when erect, masturbation may even help the health of your penis.  No convincing research on transdermal applications helping.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I will take them to heart.
One additional question - if it was is injury, wouldn't the urologist be able to see it with ultrasound? He did an ultrasound exam and made it seem like nothing at all is out of the ordinary - despite the pain, the lump and the indentation (where the lump is) i can clearly feel under my finger.

Not all the time. I had an indentation and injury just like yours and your case sounds exactly like mine. Except i didn't have any lumps just the slight indentation and pain. You might want to check if it's mondors disease ehivh is a self limiting injury that goes away with rest anyways. Persianlly I started Peyronies supplements  a pav cocktail and traction to help my case and remodel and heal my penis injury. No further damage since started pain mostly gone. Slight indentation still present for now

Thank you so much, Stratt_mat1.
Mondor's disease was actually my first guess (and hope), but the urologist ruled it out. I'm assuming that's because the dorsal vein isn't really swollen (although the lump does start at the base of my penis, the swelling isn't really that prominent), and the noticeable lump actually goes around the shaft of my penis (and a thrombophlebitis of a circumflex vein is apparently extremely rare - at least as far as I can google it).
Pentox doesn't seem to be available in my country (and viagra et all only with prescription), but I'll take all I can get my hands on.
By traction - do you mean just stretching with your hand, or did you buy any of the traction devices? Did you start immediately after noticing the indentation - through pain and all?
Once again, thank you very much for your reply.

I followed NeoVs advice and starting manual traction by hand. Always GENTLE and never beyond full flaccid stretch. It should never cause pain to do, and if it does then stop and only resume if pain does not continue. I bought a traction. Device as well, actually a couple weeks ago,but for some reason it still has never come in the mail. An esl40. Very gentle stretching device that can be comfrtabily worn for a few hours at a time.

I was white concerned that stretching for that amount of time might avgragravare the injury though. In an immediate and acute case like you and I the best first thing for traction is gentle manual traction by hand with an always flaccid penis, stop if you start to get an erection and never do any kind of traction on an erect penis.

You should be able to attain pentox and cialis by prescription from going to a urologist or PC doctor and explaining your situation and why these medications can be helpful. Check out the survival guide for Peyronies treatments it links articles you can bring with you to your appointment to show your doctor about the pentox.

You can start gentle hand traction right away, I waited a few weeks while researching and learning about Peyronies before starting any kind of traction treatment at all in fear or worsening the injury. But gentle hand traction to stretch the penis to full flacid length in flaccid state should cause no harm. You just have to be careful and listen to any signs of pain as well. Gentle traction should never cause pain. Also cut back on sexual activity and masturbation to once a week or less for now. Masturbation is also a barrier to healing if done too often. Where as sex can be had slightly more regularly without issue so be aware of that and treat until your symptoms start to fade away, the pain leaves and you start feeling better and better. This is all about improving over all penile health for the long term
