Age? 55
What did your medical doctor conclude? He agreed I have Peyronies Disease
How long have you had symptoms? 10 months
What are your symptoms? started with painful erections, then they started pointing to the left, now points straight up.
What treatments have you tried and what were the results? Testosterone injections, penis pumps, supplements
Do you have insurance or means to get medical treatment? Self pay
where are you in dealing with the psychological aspects of Peyronies Disease? Talking with wife about it and have shared with a few trusted friends.
Are you in a relationship? married 33 years.

I had back surgery 8/2018 and started noticing painful erections 3 or 4 months later. I had been on opioids for 2 months prior to surgery and 4 months after so that could have dulled pain. It certainly lowered my sex drive and my testosterone. I went to what I thought was a specialist for Peyronies Disease in 2/19 and he was a radiologist trying to sell me on Gainswave treatments for $7500. I looked him straight in the eyes and asked him what the success rate was and he said "97%". I was skeptical so I did some research on my own and found some studies showing 30-50% success rate for pain but not for curvature. I emailed this doctor with the links to the studies and was open to treatment if his response made sense and he didn't respond back to me. I read a Google review of a male patient that sounded like he went through the months of treatment and it didn't work, and all this doctor did was shrugged his shoulders and said "oh well'. Great guy. Sounds like someone I should just give my money to right?
I got a referral to a urologist from a doctor friend of mine as the soonest I could find any others that were available was 6-8 weeks. This guy has to be at least 70 and seems very knowledgeable but just prescribed me testosterone and said to use a penis pump. My testosterone was 10 and low normal is 300 so no wonder I was feeling so bad. He barely examined me and did not order an ultrasound. On my follow up he said to keep injecting myself with 10ml testosterone every 2-3 weeks and we could try Xiaflex at over $10,000 or Verpapamil at over $4,000. I have the money for either but it seems like the success rate is less than 50% for either of these and they are time consuming, painful, and could have serious side effects, or even make things worse.
I am reading a book called Overcoming Peyronie's and finished an e-book that was written by some guy trying to sell supplements who seems to be out of business. There seems to be a lot of scammy type of practitioners around this condition because they know men are desperate for answers and solutions and will pay a lot of money for an easy fix. But from what I can assess so far there doesn't seem to be any easy fixes here. Who wants to get your dick cut on or have needles stuck in it? Raise your hand!
I am not sure if I should back to this urologist and be more proactive and request a ultrasound or just find a new doc and start over. If anyone knows of a good Peyronies Disease doctor in Sarasota, Tampa, or Ft. Myers, please send me a name and number. I would even consider flying somewhere for treatment if there was a high chance of success and it were credible. I just ordered a $300 traction kit. Can't wait to start that. I must have done something really bad in a past life.
Thanks,
Bob

If you have questions about you uro, don't go back.  Find a specialist, probably even an andrologist who knows what they are talking about.

A great start is pentox, low dose nightly pde5i and traction or VED all to remodel the plaque.

Mr man

Hello Bob,
I woke up one morning and found a bend on my penis. About 45 degrees.. I connected it to an injury occurred during sex about 3 months earlier. Instinctively I stretched my penis. Just before bed time. Gently forward. Using my fore finger and thumb clapped to the head. Just for 1-2 minutes. In the morning it was streighter. Of course I was pleased. Before I could do a second session. I found myself hospitalised for another illness.
After 6 weeks I recovered. Was looking forward to a second session of manual stretching. This time there was no positive results. That was about 20 months ago. Since then I have tried most oral stuff. When I stopped using potaba (doctors prescribed). The curvature increased. Therefore potaba seems to prevent the condition from worsening. I tried vacuum pumping although not to any prescribed courses. I just pumped probably overdoing it. I think it thinned my penis. Untill I found old man's protocol for vacuum pumping. It has merrit. You can find that on this site. Use a special Peyronie's pumping device. You can find the modal online. It comes in 3 cylinder size. Sorry the name has lost me.
Am currently trying andropeyronie traction device. Am following the instructions down to the t. This is important. The instructions certainly make sense and have allowed me to wear the device for hours a day. Without following instructions I could not wear the device.  Albeit, I stuck a washing up sponge where it clamps onto the penis head. Making it immensely comftable to wear. Am 10 days into a 6 month course. Am positive about this.
The point I'm making is there is no consistent cure for Peyronie's disease. So far iv only had succes with manual stretching. That cast nothing.  Any urologists who says otherwise. Just wants your money. Your better off looking for a cure that works for you. I'm going with traction because that worked for me. Even if it only was the once.
Latest routine. Started l-lysine 3mg daily, l-proline 5mg daily. Increased vit c intake. Accompanied with almost daily vacuum therapy. Pumping to 100% Exercise caution! Made good progress. L arginine supplements and prescribed potaba are helping.

With a change after one day if manual traction it doesn't make sense as traction takes months of use (this is if you have conventional Peyronie's w permanent curvature).  Although restorex may be quicker.

How severe is your curve, have you tried to measure it?
