Once implant is done, is peyronie's over?

Do you get new scar tissue that would cause future bends, dents, hourglass? Does it matter if peyronie's progresses as it does in some people?

Do you have to continue taking Pentox, eating crazy anti inflammatory diet?

Do you continue to take cialis, arginine, etc. for blood flow?

Traction/VED?

I am hoping most of this is a moot point now?

I can see sticking to a healthy diet, but the rest just sucks. Want to go back to days where penis was not 24/7 focus of life.

I will tell you what I know and not guess at the things I don't know.  I will number the paragraphs just to made it easier to for me to refer back to them.

1. Implant surgery by a skilled experienced surgeon can straighten a greater than 90-degree bend.  A Titan implant by itself has the ability to straighten and exerts a significant amount of straightening force both to bends and dents, so traction would not be needed or advised.  Since an implant, and especially a Titan implant can straighten an established bend dent or hourglass deformity, it would also prevent a future bend from forming provided it was not just left uninflated and never cycled for weeks.  Even then I think it would straighten it when you began to cycle the implant.  I had a significant dent on the underside of the base of my penis prior to implant surgery and the implant alone totally corrected that dent almost from the moment of surgery.

2. I THINK preventing a bend and preventing Peyronies Disease flair-up are two different things.  I do not see how an implant could prevent inflammation of the tunica so my logical deduction is that while it would be possible to have a flair-up you would never form any contracting/deforming scar tissue.

3. The question about a VED is more complex.  Some surgeons say using a VED in the months or 1st year after an implant will help regain size and there are studies to support that.  Others say it is not necessary but say you can use one if you have TOTAL Erectile Dysfunction and you want to use the VED just to make the glans engorged since the glands and spongiosum are not affected by an implant.  I have used a VED a few times since I had an implant more as an experiment to engorge my glans more than any natural erection could. Other than visually there was no difference to me or my spouse so to me it is mostly a waste of effort.  Also, since about 5 months post-op I have pretty much reached the capacity of my implant as far as size is concerned. I know that because With effort (squeezing the pump with the assistance of both hands) I can use all the fluid in my reservoir so trying to increase size with the use of the VED is a moot point.

4. You would only ever take Cialia, Viagra, arginine etc IF you have zero erection of the spongiosum AND you think the effort is worth the difference.  I seriously doubt many men would do that even if the medication was free and on hand.  Even men that cannot get a natural erection, get some degree of blood flow to the glands once they are inflated and engaged in sex

In short, my life revolved around traction AND VED AND supplements AND PDE5 inhibitors along with cockrings and other gadgets.  That is all gone.  I am freed from all of that and I feel I have exceptional carefree ability.  I never think about ED or Peyronies Disease.  I did not have pain flair-ups prior to surgery and never had a lot of pain with my Peyronies Disease so I cannot be sure if that could reoccur.  I think somewhere in my memory I have been told that those that do have those flare-ups do not get them after an implant.  Maybe others can comment further.

I am almost 5 months with my titan. I saw 4 urologists over 2 years and with my peyronies they all did agree on implanting a titan to fix my curve. Last summer I found these sites and started ved and traction.

Last summer, I had about a 60 degree curve. Saw doc 4 who did some tests and also had a major venous leak. An implant became my only option. Spent about 8 months using either ved or traction to stretch back out. Also took pentox as well.

They all helped me get from a wood ruler bone press 5.5 stretch to 6.25 the day before surgery. Degree of curve dropped to around 30 degree or so and my plaque was noticeably softer. My surgery was a breeze. The doc I used told me I should be around the 6.25 after implant.

Woke up from surgery with a slight curve and about 60 percent inflated. He told me it will just get straighter and straighter over the next year.

Almost 5 months in. Straight hard erection. No curve at all. Fully pumped I am erect and point up about 2.30. We have sex in any position now we want. I stay hard till we decide to stop.

No curve, no hourglass, no dents at all. I cannot even find the plaque. I am at my 6.25 length. Will probably never get my old 7 back, but me or my wife could care less. We are happy and flirty again. The last 3 years were rough.

I hated using ved or traction. Will never use them again I hope.

Stoped taking pentox and have noted no difference in my penis.

You should read through the journals of some posted and see the level of correction possible. Several post before and after pictures from peyronies.

Short answer to question. All 4 docs told me the titan took care of peyronies period. Did not care for first 3 but let 4th do my surgery. They also did not care what stage i was in. They pretty much just saw me. Got peyronies. When do you want implant. That was it. They did not even discuss seriously xiaflex for it.

That is a great post, SW01. Couldn't agree more with absolutely everything you said. I feel I keep repeating myself, and I do apologise for saying this again, but if only I hadn't deleted my pre-implant surgery photos. My bend was horrible. Completely unusual dick. Nothing was fixing this thing, and when there was a hint of doubt beforehand as to whether my surgeon would be able to actually get the implant into the tunica with all the mess that was going on, I honestly felt at the lowest of low. If the implant operation wasn't a success then I was done with any kind of sexual activity. My God was I super relieved to wake up and see my penis erect and covered in bandage. Now it's 56 days in and straight as a ruler. As Hawk says, the pressure created has a tremendous straightening power over the penile tissue. I had specifically stated my worries to my surgeon before surgery that I was convinced the implant would just make my bent penis a rock hard bent penis when pumped up. He reassured me that he was completely confident that the Titan would create the correct amount of pressure to remodel my penis. How wrong was I and how correct was he. Now all of my sexual worries are a thing of the past. Happy days.

Not sure, maybe like an inch below glans dorsally. I can also feel it on the underside, like it is one contiguous plaque going straight through my entire shaft. Sort of like a coin stuck sideways. Very uncomfortable on ventral side because it presses against urethra and makes me feel like a pebble is stuck in it. Like I have to piss. One doc said it must be 2 separate plaques but I don't think so. Getting another opinion and color doppler with Dr. Eid this coming Monday.

My lump seems to completely surrounding urethra, yet my penis points totally up 70 degrees. No hard erection since RALP. The bimix erection, spongy at glands & painful at curve like a bee sting. Not problems with 1st cycle of xiaflex, dread the next after hearing what some of you guys went through.

Samsung,

I think you will like Dr. Eid.  He will take time with you personally and not hand you off to some PA.  I hope he can offer some sort of plan or options for you.

Thanks Hawk. He was very informative in our phone consult.

I still feel stuck though. If no calcification I would not consider an implant. You yourself said in one of your posts that people with no erectile dysfunction should not consider an implant. And you mentioned to me that if this is purely for cosmetic reasons I should not consider it. But it is.

I can't live with a deformity and I can't consider moving forward if there is no way I can get out of it. Every single person on here has some sort of hope. Except me. Once you are calcified that is that. So I feel like I'm stuck between rock and hard place. I would not consider this if I thought there was a 1 percent chance the deformity would improve. But I know that plaque will just spread and it will get worse and blah, blah. I don't want to wait around for 5 years and sit in a chair with a traction device on for 6 hours a day. I need this to be over one way or another. Honestly don't care if they just cut it off. Just don't want to think about my dick any more.

And honestly, I don't trust my own judgment on any of this because I am a nut job. It seems to me every single person that has an implant is a well adjusted married, stable man. I haven't read about any psycho nuts that have one and lived to tell the tale.

Samsung, I think my statement about not considering an implant unless you have some degree of Erectile Dysfunction was made before I understood that many skilled surgeons consider it the better solution for a deformity.  If my deformity were ever serious enough to consider surgery then I would consider implant surgery.

My bigger concern and I don't think it will be resolved here, is that even if you get the miracle of a perfect penis that you are not going to be any happier.  I am not a professional but I sense that you will simply fixate on some other perceived defect or imperfection in your life.  If you cannot bear to live with a penis that is actually functional, knowing you never intend to use it, then you are working on the wrong problem.  I understand that just like you pessimistic view of being the only man with no hope for their penis that you feel there is no hope for your mental or emotional struggles.  It might be a long tough struggle without an ideal solution but I think you can find hope if you keep turning over a few more rocks. Samsung, Working on that fixes everything.  I think fixing your penis fixes nothing.

As Alibaba would say "hugs buddy".  He is a very tough man that has no hesitation to show a gentle side. Hopefully, I can learn something from his example.

Without this forum I swear to God I would be spending countless hours online daily trying to figure out which is way is up, down or sideways regarding this disease. Some of these postings are bringing up issues I haven't encountered yet (and hopefully never will) but overall the new information and clarification of certain issues have been so helpful and much appreciated on my end. After accepting and rejecting and then accepting Restorex again, I've finally figured out how the device and process works best for me, and I'm happy to be  seeing positive results just 6 weeks in. Hoping the lengthening and straightening continue until I'm done with it. However, if it doesn't work out to my satisfaction, I think I'll be ready to consider an implant if necessary to get my desired, longterm results, and that awareness has come primarily from this forum. So thank you to everyone who's sharing, and my empathy and support to everyone dealing with this. I can relate.

I have an implant but my issues are not over. I suppose it depends on where your scar tissue/plaque is actually located. I have no glans engorgement and I take Cialis every day, beginning to wonder what the point in it is.

I guess I thought that increased blood flow would eventually fix the problem because I feel nothing in my penis and I would one day like to have a relationship after being single for 4 years.

I have had Peyronies since about 2018, went through Pentox, traction devices, etc.  I had both curvature (almost 90 degree dorsal) and hinging once my condition stabilized.  I had incision and grafting surgery in Sept 2020, but it was botched and my curvature came back.  Had implant with Dr Levine in Sept 2021, once they placed the implant in the OR, they determined that modeling alone would not straighten me so they did another incision and grafting which solved my issues.  I am not a medical professional but I understand that Peyronies will no longer be an issue for me. Like others describing their implant, I have a well-functioning penis again.  I have never used VED and dont intend to.  I likewise do not need traction or pills as I have good engorgement of the glans.

I would say that going through the surgeries and recovery periods were not easy but now that I am almost a year out from my implant surgery, I am very happy so far.
