Anyone had experience with any Seattle urologists you'd recommend?
Thanks.

I saw Dr Hunter Wessels who is supposed to be the biggest peyronies specialist around the greater seattle area. I saw him a few years ago and from my experience i've concluded that he was all about surgery.  Once I shut down the possibility of getting surgery because I wanted to exhaust every other option first, he wasn't very interested in my questions any more. Overall I left feeling like he had his agenda and that was it. None of my questions of other possible solutions were of much interest to him.

In March I saw Dr Lamberton in Puyallup Wa because he had lots of experience in xiaflex injections and that was the path i wanted to go down. He agreed that was my best option but his office's policies and those of kaiser permanente were not inline and he couldnt obtain the xiaflex without paying for it and then counting on kaiser to reimburse him. sounded like he'd been burned by them in the past. His office girls pointed me the direction of a urologist in tacoma.

Dr Craig Iriye.  This urologist was absolutely the best one I've met.  Talking to him on my first visit two days ago was like speaking to a good friend over a beer.  He knew about the delays and that it'd been months since i was approved for xiaflex but wasnt able to work it out with dr lamberton. Instead of delaying any further he gave me my first shot on my first visit and i get another one tomorrow and then an appt for modeling 4 days after that. So he is pretty cool and moved quickly to get started. i was nervous that his name didnt appear on the xiaflex website but i learned that some doctors choose not to be listed on the website and assured me hed given lots of xiaflex injections.

so there is my two cents about seattle area urologists

Thanks for sharing your story. I ended up seeing Dr James Kuan. He suggested pentox and traction with restorex for a few months while I'm in the acute phase. If no improvement, on to xiaflex.

How are you doing after your first treatment? Did you go in prepared to receive the injection at the first appointment? Did the doc use any numbing agent or lidocaine first?

I was so accustomed to being let down after all of the delays with the last urologist and kaiser permanente that I was expecting some new angle they'd throw at me to continue delaying xiaflex .  So i was surprised when he asked if i wanted to start that same day.  No numbing agent just alcohol swab and then the injection.  The pain was minimum. Only the initial pinch of the needle breaking the skin.  Some minor soreness for the next 24 hrs or so and its looking like the same after my 2nd shot. i go in for modeling on tuesday and then its six weeks til the second round. so far so good. just keeping my fingers crossed.

I am brand new to the forum and a little unsure about replying, should this post be a message instead? I would like to know about your experience with Dr. Kuan as he seems well qualified to treat peyronies. When I first got peyronies about 20 years ago I went to Swedish urology group and though I was examined by a different doctor, Dr. Kuan would have been the doctor to perform a Nesbitt procedure. Would have been I say because I chickened out. Now I want to get treated, likely with an implant. Read my initial post for details. I would appreciate it if you have any thoughts about him.
~2005 had an unusually large erection;over an inch longer and thicker. curve developed, verapamil injections, then urologist suggested excision and grafting w/possible complications requiring implant. Got scared. Never went back.
