Went to doctor today, he said stay away from traction

Ugh. Do not know who to believe here. I told the doctor that I do traction 6-8 hours a day and he almost had a fit. Said if anything do gentle by hand 10 minutes per day or do nothing. Everyone here says do 8 hours a day gentle. Who the hell is correct?

I have been doing 30 min. with restorex in AM. Then 6 hours with penimaster. Then 30 min. restorex again in PM. Plan on adding VED as well. I will wear garlic around my neck if it helps.

Hopefully he gave you a reason for this recommendation?

While many here use traction, there isn't much support for using 2 different versions.  There are rest protocols for each.  Were you seeing improvement?
Peyronies for 2+ years.  Have ED for 8 months
Tried Xiaflex, 3 cycles, zero improvement
Had incision & grafting surgery, Feb 2019.  Fixed curve (I think) but resulted in substantial length & girth loss.
Facing implant as remaining option

Inky

He said anyone that does traction will injure themselves and make it worse. That he sees it all the time.

My flaccid length is sometimes better. Unless I walk around and do stuff,  in which case it turtles after a while. My foreskin is getting larger, which I don't like. It is starting to bend to the left 180 degrees when semi erect which is very alarming. So, overall, not improvements, but I have only been doing this in earnest for about a week, so I don't expect miracles. I take a break every 2 hours and warm it with a rice sock or hot hands.

My thinking is doing a deep stretch against the curve with restorex along with milder stretch throughout the day is good. But at least 50% of all humans will disagree on anything here, so we are all just left to rot in the hell of unknowledge I guess.

There is strong evidence that many cases of Peyrones is caused by trauma. So many cases of Jelqing trauma on here. 6 to 9 hours of traction is a LOT of trauma. You're proving your doctor right so far. That would have to be so uncomfortable thing you could do to yourself. Desperation is NO way to treat yourself

Person after person on here say to do traction for many hours. The penimaster manual says to do it for hours. Scientific studies say to do it for hours. NeoV says to. Christopher1 says to. Thinkpositive says to. Numerous others say to. There is a 26 week protocol VED thing listed. Who is right? And who isn't desperate? Because you say not to or a physician's assistant says not to, I should believe it? Jesus needs to settle this once and for all. I am so sick of non answers. You are either supposed to or not supposed to do traction for extended periods of time. In the end what the hell difference does it make if I make it worse? It is already worse. I want to cut the stupid thing off anyway. Seriously considering doing exactly that.

I'm sorry folks can just step in and give misinformation as bubbadawgs comment that 6 hrs of traction is lots of trauma.  This is not what the many traction studies show, nor the experience of the vast numbers of patients who have tried it.  If you feel like doing restorex and mild hand traction, go for that!  The first two restorex studies are short term but do show progress. All these studies are available here.  You could always get a second opinion, but many renown peyronies specialist recommend traction, even along with their own treatments such as pentox and xiaflex.  Again, ignore bubbadawgs misinformation or you'll run in circles.  Please hang in there and keep us posted.

Ya tell him to do that after his doctor tells him not too. After he his results show it is hurting him. His doctor has 12 years of schooling and many years of experience treating patients. He has examined this man. Lots of people on here have had bad results with traction. Some have had good results. But I would not over rule this man's doctor. If he hurts himself further I hope he Sue's you tony

So big dawg.... Where exactly does his first post say he is being hurt by traction? Please tell me

@Inky, I believe you may be over doing the traction by using both RestoreX and Penimaster and this is giving you negative results. Try just one or the other after a break for a few days. Your penis will need time to heal after all that over stretching. I would be leaning towards RestoreX as I have used it and it has studies to back it up. RestoreX stretches hard and there is a reason why they say to use it for such short periods with rest in between.

Your doctor is somewhat right, he would have seen all the worst cases where over eager men don't listen to signs of overstretching and just keep going and end up doing more damage. I was one one of them with RetsoreX, trying to go for the full 90 degree bend and each time it would ruin my erections unless I stopped traction for a few days, then the erections came back. So each time I tried the 90 degree bend, same thing happened, poor erections until I stopped the traction for a few days so I just don't go to the 90 degree bend and all has been fine.

Why are you worried about the extra skin caused by the traction?
Age, 40's.

Had peyronie's for more than 10 years. Developed glans lump, then had poor erections and soft glans.

Made a lot of progress over the years with diet and avoidance of sugar and high carbs. Still have the lump but it's much smaller now.

@Inky I do not think using both is a good idea. Restorex is quite a forceful stretch which I assume requires all the downtime in between sessions to remain safe and effective.

I'd take a break for a week or two then start back using just one of them.

@Bent Ding Dong At present regular traction is backed by many more studies than Restorex. No surprise there as Restorex is still very new, but I just wanted to add that for accuracies sake.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Review of current treatment options by Levine and Sherer]

Inky, all of our bodies are different.  None of us have exactly the same condition.  None of us apply traction in exactly the same way, so there are few absolutely right or wrong statements on the subject.  If we search, we can probably find some evidence on either side of most arguments.  "Proof" and "proven" are words that can seldom be used on the subject of Peyronies Disease. There is however one statement in this topic that is absolutly and provably false.  If your doctor actually said, " anyone that does traction will hurt themselves", then he gave you false information.  Studies from Dr. Levine to Mayo Clinic have proven that statement wrong. Many men on this forum have proven it wrong, including me.

Can someone injure themselves with traction? Certainly, they can.  Will everyone respond to traction positively at every stage of Peyronies Disease? Probably not!

The key is to take precise objective measurements of length, girth, and deformity, and closely monitor exact changes and see the effects on you of any treatment you use.  That includes any treatment a doctor recommends.  Few people have lived many years without realizing doctors are usually correct, BUT, they are often wrong.  This is true of all conditions but studies show that most urologists know less about Peyronies Disease than informed patients.  It was Peyronies Disease patients that discovered the benefits of VEDs long before doctors jumped on the bandwagon.  I remember the days when every doctor laughed or frowned at their use. Unless you have a doctor that specializes in Peyronies Disease and male sexual health, do not expect much from someone that mostly treats male and female urinary tract issues. Ultimately the patient has to take responsibility and decide.

Unfortunately, you also have to realize that on forums, out of many thousands of people, you run into all kinds, from level headed experienced members to hotheads and even a handful with mental illness that blurt out nonsense.  That is why you acknowledge the disclaimer when you registered here or on any quality forum and why everyone with the least degree of common sense knows you cannot sue people on a forum for their opinion.

Best of luck.
PS: If you do not know how to take precise measurements look it up or just ask.  It is crucial

Anyone tried this for congenital curvature?  I am considering traction therapy, I do mild hand therapy now but I've lived with this 30 degree curve since I was 9, finally now really affecting my psyche as I am 34 hung strapped and handsome but not confident.

Also, is it possible to sleep with one of these traction devices on?

Farlander, please start your own thread on cogenital curves.  I wanted to respond, but do not want to hijack inkys thread.

Stick with the garlic.  But seriously, you are overdoing it.  Just pick one method and stick with it.  Do not combine multiple methods, you will only cause more problems.  Remember, this is not a sprint, it's a marathon.  I am 1.5 years into this and my scar is still improving and I have only done RestoreX plus supplements, healthy diet, and stay fit.

For the first few years while your scar is either going to heal or not, then doing something like RestoreX is a good choice.  After a few years, when your scar has either cleared up or not, then you can approach the next level of treatment with your doctor, such as Xiaflex.  In my case, my plaque is starting to shrink, but only just recently.  Also, I did not have plaque for the first 4 or 5 months.  Each case is different, so you have to use common sense and work with the vendor to find a good therapy.

Much of the research shows that multimodal therapies are more effective than just one or two treatment strategies.
