Hi, is it possible that Erectile Dysfunction can affect one side of the penis as a result of Peyronies Disease, or could this be something else?, i.e. - one side of the penis seems solid, and the other is softer and not as erect. I am only 24 and am booked to see a doc in 3 weeks time. What are possible treatments?

What you describe does not seem like a symptom of Peyronies to me. But you are wise in seeking the advice of a professional.  I would caution against going to a general urologist however. You will see many posts on this forum in this regards. Urology seems to focus on the urinary tract, kidneys, bladder, etc. I'm finding the only connection to general urology is due to the fact the we use our penis to urinate with. Make sure you find a doc who specializes in male sesual function.

Erectile Dysfunction is a health relevant problem which ruin your sexual life completely. It is occur when men get failed to attain an erection during sexual activity. But don't worry about it since it can be treated by certain pill which include generic viagra, kamagra,edegra, forzest etc....

Hi everyone.

Well I got diagnosed by my GP the other day with Peyronies. I'm 22 and think I have had this for 2 years.

One thing this isn't going to do is destroy me. I have booked to see a urologist who specialises in Peyronies in a weeks time. What sort of questions do I need to ask him?

My symptoms are quite strange, in the fact I do not really have any curvature; I have a lump on the shaft of the penis and the right hand side of the penis doesn't seem to get erect. Whereas the left hand side, that seems fine and normal! I suspect this would prevent sex as I have Erectile Dysfunction on one side but havn't tried since getting this so can't really say. I don't really have a bend because of this, its just that the right hand side I think suffers from Erectile Dysfunction.

Has anyone got any ideas of ways to improve this? Does the fact that I have no curve and in fact Erectile Dysfunction on one side mean treatement options will be different? Or will it be the usual VED, Pentox, Cialis, Viagra etc?

I'm glad that I spoke to my GP - its better not putting up with this on your own. I was scared after he told me for a few hours but then realised worse things can happen and whilst at the moment there is no cure, there are ways to improve the condition!

Interesting discussion, I myself think I got some sort of inflammatory Peyronies after injury to the tunica albuginea or buck's fascia, several years ago. I also got some form of scar tissue or collagen(cord like), unfortunately I think its the remains of the distal right dorsal artery, the urolog thinks its a vein but a color doppler or visualization of arteries would probably show absent flow in right dorsal artery. It could also be that the scar tissue is putting pressure on the right lateral side just below the glans on top of the spot where the right dorsal artery and nerve is traveling to supply the glans, corpus spongiosum and dorsal shaft skin, with blood and sensitivity.

I got an absent right dorsal pulse, and glans has changed, also everything except underside of penis is numb. So I think in my case its definitely localised nerve and artery damage to the right dorsal artery. Also the penis flaccid state has changed its less elastic and seems more rigid than before, also more pronounced veins that would indicate more drainage perhaps from the artery. Damage to a peripheral artery like the dorsal is likely to cause numbness as peripheral blood supply is compromised. And as the dorsal arteries left and right goes between the tunica albuginea and bucks fascia any collagen formation between these linings would probably effect blood supply and dorsal artery and nerve by compression. Also the penis angle is changed it points straight up (perpendicular to the body) the few times i have erections (only morning erections with cialis).

I also got the soft glans syndrome(which also explains the lack of filling of corpus spongiosum as the glans have backflow into spongiosum), and while the shaft is hard the glans doesn't fill up. Which would be physiologically impossible if everything was working correctly. I however think its very hard finding someone that can fix this, have to basically excavate and repair the tunica injury first then anastomosis the dorsal artery with a donor artery from maybe the abdomen. Needless to say I'm met with skepticism when I go to urologists and they dint often know what to do other than prescribe cialis. And i think fighting with doctors for appropriate diagnosis/treatment is actually getting more on my nerves than the injury.

I got some questions, especially aimed to the ones with numbness.

Is flaccid penis status changed from before?
Two healthy pulses right and left lateral/dorsal side? Each side below of glans.
Changes colorization, touch, rubbery feeling (penile skin and glans)?
Structural changes?(nerve damage will deteriorate smooth muscle tissue)
More pronounced veins?
Also does the glans fill up as before?

england_J When I first noticed peyronies disease I had the same problem. I noticed a lump on the left hand side though and still to this date I barely have a bend.... but I have peyronies disease its that freaken nodule. Its basically scar tissue and you probably have it really bad on the one side and its blocking the blood flow or restricting it but im no doctor this is just whats happening to me. Overtime you will notice the bend is worst on different days. Untill you see the peyronies disease specialist he can rule it out for sure and you might actually have scarring on both sides and not even know it... which is what happen to me.

i had a milder form of the disease  for about 8 years than one day i reinjured myself such that my symptoms would now appear to involve nerve issues, changes in sensation and the like. i too have noticed a general rubbery feeling around the penile skin and glands. no pronounced structural changes to speak of. cialis calms things down considerably. i've been in the state now for about a year ...all i can too is pray and hope for some kind of miraculous healing.

Pen yes one side of your penis can have good blood flow and the other side may not and this could be a result of peyronies disease. If you have scar tissue on say the left side of your penis blood flow will be restricted and cause Erectile Dysfunction problems maybe the other side compensate for it. The thing is you got to get evaluated to make sure there is scar tissue there. Also you should have symptoms of peyronies disease also like a bend, painfull erections and so on. Me myself my left side is causing me the most problems. Usually you can feel the scar tissue its mushy.

I agree with Noway. See a peyronie's specialist. Be careful about the Doppler test if the doc recommends it, though. Some men have reported cavernosal fibrosis from the injection used to induce an erection for that test. (At least, that's what I've read.)

Almost all my peyronie's scarring is on my right side. One thing I notice is that my left side gets hard much faster than my right side.

See a specialist that knows what hes doing if he does injections of any kind be carefull there is a wrong way too do it and a right way. The doctor im seeing explain this to me because I brought it up too him.
