1. If your doctor tells you to do nothing and wait, find another doctor who is up to date on todays therapies for Peyronies.  The most important thing you can do is to treat it immediately.  If you are lucky enough to mold your scar while it is still fresh, you could have great results with traction.  The older your scar gets the harder it is to remodel.  Very old scars can even require surgery or injections to breakdown the scar material.
2. Stretching works and will not hurt your penis.  You need to see a doctor and have him not only confirm your condition, but also tell you where the scars are so you can come up with a stretching strategy.  You want to stretch straight out, but you will also want to stretch down or to the side for example to stretch your scar where it needs it most.  My scar is on top, so I stretch out straight and then down.  (I was bent left, assumed my damage was on the side in fact most of the damage was on top.)
3. Do not put the tape directly on your penis.  You need to put some gauze around your penis first and then put the tape on over it.  This takes some practice and even with practice, you will have some off days.  If you put the tape directly on your penis, you will tear your skin.  Always take the tape off slowly
4. Clamp down with the entire head of your penis in the clamp, with the neck of the clamp on the area of your penis shaft that is below your penis head.  This will take practice and how many clicks will depend on your penis size.  I click 2-3 times for example.
5. During the first months or so of doing your therapy, I highly recommend a rice sock to warm the area for optimal stretching.  I have found that after some time, I don't need the rice sock anymore but in the beginning it softened up the area and allowed for greater stretching.
6. Find a comfortable private area to do your stretching, bring an iPad or something like that and just relax while your are doing your therapy and take your mind off it.  I watch movie trailers, TED talks, Netflix, etc.
7. Make sure your partner is aware of your therapy and that you need some private time each day.  Sometimes I try to do it at my office, I have a private office, so it does not interfere with my family time
8. The RestoreX team is there to help, do not hesitate reaching out to them.  They have provided me with the best support and also replaced a broken device at no cost.  I cannot say enough about them, and their generosity.
9.  Get your self an extra base.  Attach the long arms to 1 and short to another.  Do your 15 minutes straight with the long arms, then switch to the short arms and do your 15 minutes bent.
10.  After wrapping your penis head, make sure your pull your shaft while you hold the wrapped up penis head to release any skin folds under the wrapping that WILL cause you pain while clamped.  This is super important, make sure that you practice this a lot.
11. After putting your penis in, make sure your loosen the skin around the base of your penis so you are pulling the inner tissue, not your skin.
12.  Be patient, this is a marathon, not a sprint.  Changes take place slowly over time and remember scars want to pull together so you have to fight with it till YOU win.
13.  Everyone has a different scar.  Some scars are big, some are small, some effect more layers than others and so on.  You can speak to people in the forums but remember that everyone will have mostly a different experience and my experience may or may not be different than yours.
14.  Exercise, stay fit, stay positive, eat healthy, and stay sexually active if your doctor says that's safe.
15.  When stretching against your scar, put some gauze on the fulcrum so that your penis can glide across the fulcrum and reduce discomfort or pain.
16.  Last but no least, always remember to take a piss before you start.  The worst is when you are half way thru and you need to piss

Thank you so much for posting this information. Cannot commend your efforts enough!

Does anyone know if it's possible to communicate with Dr. Trost directly via email?  Please advise.  I'm willing to travel from California to see him if he thinks he could help me.  Thanks very much.

I do know that for the in office consultation you have to drop a deposit of 7000 USD, that will be returned to you upon going there. So they won't charge you the amount if you go. But I tried searching for contact info before, or phone call consultations and I don't think he does that. Not sure now, that though the mayo website you can reach out to him if you are a patient.

Thank you so much for the email address Tony. I was unable to find it!

Did you ask him if you can post his email online before doing it?

Pfract

He said it was found online, so I presume it's public?

thinkpositive

Out of respect, I would ask him.  There are very strict laws in the USA regarding what he can discuss with people who are not his actual patients and he might not want his email address published like that.

WhatNext81

That would appear to be an email attached to RestoreX product, not is practice.

I'm seriously considering buying ordering RestoreX. Any feedback from those of you that are currently using it or have used it in the past would be greatly appreciated.

Hey dach.. There are a couple of threads here about the device. Search around for it. Pretty good chances you will like the device

Are you a RestoteX sails man? If so, you should state that clearly, and by the way it is strictly prohibited on the forum to promote and sale anything.

I purchased the Restrorex last year (started using it 9-1-18). So, it's been almost 6 months. I have used it almost every night (I've missed about 6 days total during this time) for mostly 2 x 30 minute sessions.

The first month I gained about a 1/2 inch in my bone-pressed flaccid and bone-pressed stretched length (which equals almost exactly one's bone-pressed erect length). I was excited about the improvement. But, since then, I've only gained almost another 1/4 inch in length. Nevertheless, its an improvement of around 2/3 or 3/4 of an inch overall. My curvature of around 50 degrees seems to be about the same or slightly better. My erection quality is the same (which is not that great since the onset of the disease 5 years ago). My local urologist wants me to continue using the device indefinitely--and this includes using it while undergoing interferon injections next week. As to her opinion of the device versus others, she declined giving me her opinion--basically just stated that traction in general is beneficial (and that included hand modeling). She wants me doing both the restorex and hand modeling during the entire interferon treatment.

I should also add that my plaque is calcified. When I purchased the device, I emailed Dr. Trost about the effectiveness of traction with calcified plaques and he replied that the calcification will make any improvement more difficult--but not impossible. He suggested strict daily usage...and patience.

Overall, I'm glad I purchased the device (although the purchase price gave me some pause at the time). I work full-time in a very active job and can't do the hours and hours of daily time required by the other devices. And, I didn't feel comfortable with the noose-oriented devices--which I tried a few years ago and ended up throwing away. Will it work for everyone? I doubt it...but that's true with pentox, xiaflex, supplements, surgery, etc. I'm determined to give the restorex a fighting chance (along with the upcoming injections) before resorting to surgery--and the study results (regarding traction in general and the specific restorex study completed last year) are encouraging. And, on a mental level, daily traction makes me feel like I'm actively DOING SOMETHING DAILY  to combat the disease...and that makes me feel good. So, we'll see...

I hope this information helps the poster who asked for feedback from those using the restorex. I'd be interested in hearing what other restorex users are experiencing as well.

PS: I forgot to add that Dr. Trost has a newer video online that explains how to get the most out of the restorex. Apparently, for the first 5 months, I wasn't bending my penis enough. I had the length set too long and could not get the complete downward curve suggested. This may have affected my lack of curvature improvement (along with my calcification). I'll report back if I see any new differences, improvement, etc.

Thanks for the replies. I've had peyronie's since about 2006. I've never had any pain, just an upward curve that started suddenly. I have a band on the top of my penis that causes the curve. When erect the the band feels pretty hard, it's calcified I guess. I used the old Fastsize traction device for a couple of years when it first came out. I also had Verapamil injections soon after diagnosed with Peyronies Disease. My urologist thinks my Peyronies Disease would have been worse if I hadn't used traction and had the Verapamil shot. Who knows.

I've seen my urologist twice in the past 4 years or so. I've asked about Xiaflex injections before and he does them, but he didn't seem very enthusiastic for some reason. When I saw him 2 years ago I recieved one of the shots to give you an erection in his office. At that time he said my curvature was within the realm of normal, but he could do plication surgery if I really wanted it.

When I saw him a few months ago he had a student doctor with him. It gave the student doctor a chance to palpate a penis with Peyronies Disease. :-\ The doctor now says that I have a significant curve. A change from your penis is in the realm of normal. I didn't have an erection, so I'm not sure why he would have changed his mind so much. :( He did mention the RestoreX, but said he didn't have much data on the effectiveness.

I'm self employed and don't have access to a group insurance policy. My deductable is $8000.00. So the RestoreX seems like a relatively affordable option to try. My only fear is making the scar worse. I've seen the RestoreRX videos and it looks pretty intense.

TonySa

I don't believe it will make it worse IF you back off the pressure w any pain.  Maybe get an ultrasound to rule out calcification first.  If a lot of calcification, traction prob isn't very likely to help.

Thank you for your post. I have been debating buying Restorex for some time. Your experience sound encouraging. I have pretty much the same Peyronies Disease after effects as you so I will give it a try. I went for the Xiaflex consultation with my urologist but I am still worried about the possible side effects so I have not started treatment.

This post is exactly what I'm looking for and it's amazing! I just went through my second session with the RestoreX and I'm having trouble keeping the penis head locked into place. I'm getting frustrated but this post after reading it has certainly helped. I will try the techniques and strategies you outlined in your post. Thank you so much for sharing the pictures and the explanation!

@thinkpositive

First, I want to thank you again for the detailed post concerning the use of the RestoreX device!

I've been using the device for about three days now when I ran into some problems that you may be able to help me with.

I've wrapped the head of my penis in the manner that you described and I'm still having trouble keeping it in the clamps when I add tension to the device. Here's what I'm doing.

1) With the extension rods and tension rods completely retracted, I get the penis head locked into the clamp.
2) From there, I extend the extension rods until there is tension as much as I can handle.
3) Then I release the tension springs to add the additional tension.

It's the step 3 where I run into trouble.

In order to make the white bands disappear, I slowly let the spring out until it's fully extended. However, when doing so, no matter how well I secure the penis head in the clamps, it pops out of the clamp. So, so far, I haven't been able to achieve the full tension the device is supposed to give.

My Question
Has this happened to you with your experience with advice? What did you do to solve the issue?

Looking at your pictures, it looks like we're similarly sized, which is even a better help for me. The only thing I can think that I'm not doing correctly is placing a penis head further into the clamp. But I'm fearful that I am clamping some of the shaft as well. Reading your post, I'm assuming that the ridge underneath the head is matched with the ridge on the clamp to prevent it from slipping out. Does that make sense? I know you have mastered this which is why I'm seeking additional input about that specific part.

Any clarification you can provide would be very helpful! And very much appreciated! I really want this device to work because I think it's the thing that's going to help me.
