Does Traction work in the chronic stage?
« on: December 12, 2018, 02:50:20 AM »

I just realized I have this. Does traction work in the chronic stage? I don't have pain and haven't noticed any difference. Am I stuck like this, now?

Yes, it will work. Is your plaque calcified? Meaning is it hard to the touch?

JS I have "hard to the touch" plaque but never been formally classified as calcified. In your opinion does that make a difference on potential improvement with traction in the chronic stage?

Curved..it certainly makes a difference in treatment. The only way to really find out if calcification has set in, is through an ultra sound from the doctor. Based on what I know, the Xiaflex doesn't work as well, and its harder to get the needle into the plaque if it is calcified. My plaque is not calcified, but it is still fairly hard to touch. So I am not sure one can really tell one way or the other by touch. Ultra sound is the way. I had two dr. appts/ exams before determine the line of treatment. First one was the initial meet and greet where the Uro examined me. Then he scheduled the ultra sound. Then met to go over my options, basically Xiaflex or surgery. Like most, I chose the less invasive Xiaflex. Surgery can always happen. Hope this helps.
I can't speak about the traction as i haven't done that. My Dr. feels that hand modeling is as effective as the devices used. But everyone has their own beliefs.

If the curve is stabilized (chronic phase) but problematic I’d get strarted w xiaflex, pentox, andvtraction or VED.  See the survival guide: Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums

I don't know if it's calcified but my peyronie's is like 5 years old. The curve hasn't gotten worse but I've noticed a new "?" shaped deformity in the past year.

I'm no longer expecting full cure from treatments. I was hoping I could still recover length/girth and maybe some improvement in the bend/deformity.

Would I be wasting my time?

The older the scar, the harder to remodel, but you should try...

I am in the chronic stage and decided to try traction.  My history is in 2016 penis was injured during sex.  A year latter in 2017 did the complete series of xiaflex.  During the treatment there
were times when the doctor mention that the needle bent. Probably due calcification.  The dent
on the side did go away and the curve remained the same.  I in the forth week of using the resortx and seeing promising results!  The present curve is a 90 degree angle at the start of the traction.
I would say there was a five degree decrease in the curve since the start of traction. I am taking pictures weekly to monitor the progress. I can't figure out how to post pictures to forum to
show the progress.

I wonder if the castor oil or transdermal to soften the plaque and then trying xiaflex, i would imagine the needle could penetrate then, by that logic then traction would be great too.
