"Curved" has a question about implants for patients without ED

Question for those on this thread.  Long story short have had peyronies for 3 years+ now and have tried every conventional therapy.  $ rounds of Xiaflex helped at one point reduce a downward curvature to just about straight for a 3 month period.  Then it came back to where I now have a fairly severe upward curvature.  I am able to have intercourse but have lost length and girth and this is exacerbated by the curvature which makes my penis feel even smaller.  No erectile dysfunction yet but I am taking low dose viagra (generic).  I am considering an implant to help fix curvature and restore some size.  Does anyone have any counsel?  On one hand I can have sex, albeit not as great as I would like.  On the other hand, I can still have sex and the implant is a significant step that can carry some complications (mitigated by an experienced surgeon). I recognize that insurance will be problematic as it would not cover an implant for peyronies.  Clearly this is a decision I would make in consult with an experienced Uro and my wife but was wondering if others are in a similar situation and what they may have thought through. Thx.

Curved,

If I were you I would call Dr. Eid office to ask if you are considered a candidate for an implant since you do not have ED.  I sus[ect the answer is no but I am not certain.  I do think that doctors accept the patient's word on whether they have ED.  How else would they know?  I would, however, want to be honest with my surgeon.  Dr. Eids number 212-797-1012.  I would start by asking for Myra or Silvia.

Let us know what you find out.

PS: I am not sure why you posted this in my personal Implant journal rather than starting a new topic, but I will split your post and my reply to a new topic.

Friday is a bad day to call.  He is in surgery all day and his assistants take off early.

Sounds great, please keep us posted.  I suspect many men are in the position of haveing exhausted and failed peyroines treatments yet Do not have full blown erectile dysfunction...so are wondering if implants are an option.  Dr Eid may be willing to also consult regarding excision and grafting where length should not be lost and girth regained.  (Nesbit/plication surgeries lose length.)
PxD 2 yrs 9/16.  Failed all treatment. 9/11/18: excision, grafting & implant Dr Karpman MtnView Ca, AMS CX 18cm + 3-1cm RTEs.
Pump failed.  2/11/20 Dr Karpman installed Titan 22cm +1cm RTE.

I also don't think Dr. Eid does grafting. Think he has an issue with the amount of scar tissue it can generate. Similar to Dr. Lue's position.
Single and 58 yrs. old - first peyronies symptoms Fall 2015
Had grafting surgery by Franklin Kuehhas in June 2016 - complete failure
Borderline ED possible but not taking drugs, shots or using VED
Now evaluating options for next step

I'd think he'd at least have a solid medical recommendation to consider whether himself or a referral.

One of the issues I had with insurance was I needed a physical  ed code and not just peyronies. Since I have the venous leak I now qualify. Just something else to have to deal with like all this is not bad enough.
Dealt with ED, Peyronies, & venous leak for 3 yrs.
implant on March 7, 2019 w/ a Titan 18 cm plus 1cm RTE
