Wondering if anyone has had an MRI on their penis?  I had an ultrasound when my dorsal vein ruptured and doctor was amazed at the image of my plaque, but to me it just looked like a fuzzy white blur.  Curious if an MRI would show more detail on what exactly is going on inside.

I read this in a study:

"MRI is superior to US (ultrasound) for superior contrast resolution in assessing non-calcified plaques. On MRI the plaques appear as hypo-intense areas of thickening in the tunica albuginea on both T1-weighted and T2-weighted sequences (5, 15, 16). Hauck E et al. (17) observed that MRI provides a detailed evaluation of penile anatomy, an accurate presentation of irregularities of tunica albuginea, as well as deformities of corporal bodies."

So I guess the answer is yes. I'll bring this study to my Urologist when I visit him on 8/24.

This is available to UK patients both privately and as NHS patient. I paid for consultation fee with Professor Minhas and got him to write to my doctor referring to him as NHS patient. Alternatively if you are flushed you can pay privately for this. I suggest you find a better dr.

I'm sure there is the possibility of better resolution and clarity at the expense though $$$. You would have to be very still through the machine and not move.

Why are urologists so stubborn about ultrasounds, MRI, and dopplers?

They should be done immediately when penile pain is announced.

One crappy  urologist insisted I had no plaque with his exam and right after I asked my pcp to order one.  Guess what?  They found plaques!

I may end up suing. That cost me lots of time and, most likely, more damage, and definitely psychological distress.

Do they think they are God's or are they beholden to stingy insurance companies?

Because urologists as a whole don't fully understand peyronies. This is why we always say you must find a urologists who has a track record of specializing in and treating peyronies disease specifically. Most urologists specialize in kidney and bladder disorders, all of which fall under the broad umbrella of urology.
