Hi friends. I am writing this post because some days ago i read many research, even from years ago, which claim HUGE results from Heat Therapy. Here you can see an abstract (13 years ago!!) : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16019862

{link to commercial site deleted, was just a rehash of the study anyway, no new info}

Those studies claim that, in some cases, heat therapy reduced plaque of -50% !!!!!!!!!

After reading this, i immediately came here on the forum; this because i really trust you and your experience, and in some cases, i would prefer to follow your advice than my urologist's advice. After some research, i concluded that data is confusing; some said to have an improvement, some others didn't; some didn't do this therapy seriously and abandoned after some days. That's why i started this topic: i would like to gater a more accurate data to understand wether if heat therapy is really effective or not, and if it is, what improvement i should expect from this. So please, for the guys who tried this treatment, comment filling this scheme:

HEAT THERAPY:

1.Improvement in Plaque size? (yes or no, if yes how much mm, better if confirmed by ultrasound)
2. Improvement in penile elasticity? (yes or no, if yes how much)
3. Improvement in ED? (yes or no, if yes how much)
4. Improvement in bend? (yes or not, if yes how much degrees
5. Other things to report? (for example, girth or  lenght recovery, other improvements; please report negative outcomes too, if there are)
6. Would you suggest it?
Important: Which protocol did you follow? (example: twice a week, 15 minutes a time, 40°, using an heat lamp)

Thank you very much!!

Hi hope!

I'm afraid we won't get many clear answers, if any, as heat has always been used in paralel with other treatments (traction, supplements...); so to my knowledge it was never attributed any direct role in plaque reducing by any of us.

But, as you did, I once checked all the topics about heat therapy on the forum, and asked myself the same questions... So, for what's it's worth, I can give you my experience so far : my symptoms (questions 1 --> 5) have only gotten worse over the past 10 months, but I can positively say that heat (handwarmers in my case) along with traction helps my flaccid pain subside. That's the only benefit I can report, although as always the result are very personal and changing; so give it a try and see how you react to it!

Cheers,

- Pain almost cured with Hirudoid cream and diet/lifestyle changes (see my topics on this); deformity still here, but partly reduced with traction + VED.

One study showed heat application for 20 mins x 2 week resulted in some curve reduction.

@Gabriel, thank you for your comment. I read that heat itself was helpful in plaque reduction

@Tsanchez, yes, you're right, if you look above i linked the study your talking about. What do you think about it?

Did anyone try seriously heat therapy?

I'm looking into trying this right now. After a secondary injury my symptoms have gotten much worse. At age 26, I'm hoping I can spur some normative healing through heat therapy. I'm going to try keeping my genitals warm with a battery powered heat pad for at least a few hours a day. This is essentially necessary anyways, because I live in Northeastern Canada, and our winters are quite cold. I figure I'll have to keep my genitals warm when i'm outside. Currently looking for discreet heating pads.

Try to keep the heat away from your testicles if possible!

Next time do a forum search, we have been discussing this and the research for years.

It works well, especially with traction and VED.

I can report that heat really helps with flaccid pain. I only get pain when flaccid. The minor curves or dents in my penis, and most of the visible >5 degree curvature curvature are improved if significantly if I leave my penis against a source of heat for a few hours. The difficulty is in providing hours' worth of consistent heat without getting the source too close to my testicles, preventing the heat from getting too high (I find the hothands will regularly reach 50C for me), and remaining active/non-stationary.

Currently I stuff a hothands pack into a jock strap, and carefully position it so that it is only over my penis. Frequently, I find myself readjusting. The hothands pack often reaches temperatures high enough that I find myself removing it temporarily, or placing so many extra layers between it and my penis that it becomes a burden. I also have an electronic handwarmer, however it is too bulky to discreetly wear in public, unless I am wearing snowpants or something else overtop.

Although this is somewhat off-topic, frankly, I'm having a hard time understanding my peyronies. After quitting porn, I'm suffering less and less ED. My dents and bending are pretty severe when flaccid, but quite minor when erect. I'm still freaking out over the cumulative reduction in girth (the dents seem to chip away fractions of a centimeter here and there, which may, where they coincide along the shaft, equate to a total reduction that is significant). It has continued to progress, through what I assume is re-injury through masturbation. Avoiding porn addiction relapse and masturbation has proven incredibly difficult for me. Normal sex is neither painful nor difficult.

I feel pretty ashamed about my lack of willpower, because I had only minor curvature up until these additional injuries appeared.
