Mechanical protocol to follow after injections
« on: June 14, 2018, 11:22:56 AM »

Hi guys,

So I'm finally getting my first PRP/HA injections by Dr Virag on tuesday... I'm aware I should not have any irreasonable hope about it, but if it could at least diminish/eradicate my pain, I would be pleased. I will of course report my evolution on the next weeks/months.

In order to maximize the chances of positive effects, I wanted as many opinions as I can gather about one big question : should I keep using daily traction and VED right after my injections ? Dr Virag did not seem to be convinced I should, Dr Sussman didn't know but was more kean on "letting the penis alone" during the whole treatment (at least 4 months !!...) ; but I have read a few good urology websites who say that sticking with VED and traction is actually necessary for the PRP to do its stuff efficiently. So, what do you think :-) ?

And, bonus question : can anyone report a decrease in pain / shift to the stable phase after any injections (PRP, Xiaflex, Verapamil, cortisone...) ??

Thanks a lot guys !!

In my opinion, don't do nothing in the first week.
It happen to me that blood gone out from the injection place while using VED.
Later you may do VED carefully

Hello James ! Thanks for your answer: your advice and experience are always precious.

I was thinking quite the same as you actually; what made me doubt is that I'm sure I have read somewhere here that a folk was prescribed to use extensively the VED right after a priapus shot, in order to dispatch the PRP everywhere inside the penis... What he did, and what seemed to be quite effective (can't remember his name and exact situation though).

So, if on the contrary I should not have sex/masturbation nor use the VED for at least a week in order no to make the PRP/HA move too much, that would mean I should also avoid any erection (and thus stop taking Cialis)??

No. Erection is acting different than VED. It will not suck out nothing from your skin, it improves blood flow and is healthy.
I am also suspicious that VED after PRP may move the plasma into the blood stream so will gone from the place that it suppose to effect.
But you should take my opinion carefully as I am not a medical specialist.
I would like to hear Christopher opinion in the subject :)

Perfect James, thanks again for your reply :-) !

So the trick is to prevent the PRP/HA from getting out of the skin/plaque... Thus, I should be able to practice sport (swimming, weight lifting, yoga), but I guess I should avoid sex which might put too much outside pressure/movement on the penis ?

And even if you're not an official urologists, your advice is always welcome James ^^ !!

I am not also any kind of medical expert :)
I just try to learn as much as I can because doctors mistakes almost killed me more than ones, also doctors mistake made me serious health problems. But all ended fine, except one tooth that was taken out when I was young and was completely healthy ;D
In my opinion, no one can understand your body more than yourself.
And now at 70, I am even more careful.
I abstained from sex for one week after the PRP injection, not abstained from any other physical effort.

Haha you're right James, and that's also for this that I value your advice, and more generally the elderly folks on the forum! When I think about it, I received many more good advices from the members here than from the 5 urologists I have seen for 9 months... So, thanks again ! I'm going at Virag's in 2 hours; I'll keep you updated!!
