Thank you very much for keeping us updated, Alexander. Ionthophoresis with Verapamil worked a little bit for me (30% reduction of the plaque). Will your doctor fill the vial with? Verapamil?

Did it do anything for deviation or indentation? Because the Uro says it might help for pain, but nothing else. Although I have read studies about a reduction in deviation too.

Iontophoresis will include: Dexamethason, Verapamil and Lidocain.

Alexander, no, i haven't got improvement in my bend which is little (about 10° with full erection) but i gained my full size back because in full erection my penis seemed a little bit less big. I noticed a slight improvement of my Erectile Dysfunction and a plaque reduction. I did 32 treatments in total.

My doctor said it will be 10 sessions with each 20min. How did you manage to get 32 session?

I havent advices to give since the treatment is totally painless. Sometime you can feel a little bad sensation on the part of the penis where you are doing the treatment. But if you feel PAIN then there's something wrong.

I did 22 treatments initially, then my uro said that if there was some improvement after the ultrasound, then we could do other 10 treatments. Now i have got another ultrasound by the end of the month, and if there were other improvements, i'll keep doing another 10 treatments, and so on.

I did iontophoresis for 4 months straight everyday - as suggested by my then urologist - alternating verapamil and bentelan (a cortisonic drug). I didn't experience any change in curvature, plaque reduction and erectile function. Given these results, I also decided to skip my follow up appointment. From my point of view, it's pretty easy to cheat on patients with ultrasounds that show plaque's size reduction at follow up appointments, since these instruments are anything but perfect and you - as a patient - are not in the position to question the validity of your urologist's report, since you don't how to measure your plaque based on these scans. The fact that based on hope794's urologist's words his plaque reduced by 30% in size but he personally didn't detect any change in curvature sounds like confirming my statements, at least from my point of view.

Still whish you good results with this treatment. Just beware of not getting your skin burned, so always take a look at the voltage you're using.

I have read that the change in curvation wasn't significant in the studies, but it happens.... i need to keep my hopes up for motivation

What is the right voltage? I think i can trust the doctor to do this right....dont you think?

Regarding the voltage, I think it depends on the device you're using; I'd advice you to use the voltage suggested by your doctor. Lower it if you feel burning sensations on your skin.

I'd also like to stress out that iontophoresis isn't a treatment: the treatment consists in the drug (Dexamethason, Verapamil and Lidocain in your case) and iontophoresis is just an instrument, amongst others, to deliver it. The idea that stands behind this method is that drugs' delivery should be less traumatic than how it would be if you got these via injections; but I also heard that with iontophoresis you're not sure how much of the drug you're using reaches the plaque (the possibility that it's very little is not so unlikely).

What Welther said it's true - but not totally true. I didn't the ultrasound with my doctor, but with another doctor who is specialized as "sonographer" (i don't know if this word it's correct in english - i mean the doctor who is specialized in doing ultrasounds), so he had no gain telling me that i had a plaque reduction. Furthermore, as i said, i noticed some improvements in penile's health, so i trust my doctor.
Regarding the voltage, every competent doctor will check it before doing iontophoresis, so don't worry, trust me.

Finally, i would like to say that i'm not saying that Welther is a liar, i'm just saying that every person has a different outcome from Peyronies Disease'S treatments. Conditions are different from man to man, for example disease's progression, plaque size, Erectile Dysfunction or not, and so on.

I wish you the best of luck, it worked a little bit for me, but didn't solve the problem. So i can tell that it's worth the try, but don't expect HUGE changes.

dr. Levine told me that he doesn't trust papers that mention %age reduction in plaque size, since it's very hard to gauge the size of the plaque from the ultrasound...

Today I read in two scientific papers that some patients reported an improvement regarding curvation. Even if the changes might not be always significant or only self-reported, my hopes are up!

I know what the procedure is when you go to a private urologist in Italy in order to ask for a doppler ultrasound and treatment for peyronie's disease or other similar conditions: I've had two ultrasounds done in two different offices in Italy and both times the sonographer was a doctor different from the one who prescribed the treatment; but this doesn't mean that, as you stated, the sonographer couldn't have any interest in claiming that the plaque reduced in size after the treatment, since he cooperates with the other doctor (they're associates) and you're a client to both of them (and in fact you pay both of me). Imo, it's more than clear that the sonographer could be interested in reporting false results in order to avoid losing the client. Now, I don't know if your curing urologist and your sonographer work together, but I bet they do, and if it's not like this I really don't understand the reason why you chose two different doctors in order to address the same disease.

Now, coming to what you said with regards to your 30% plaque's reduction after iontophoresis (based on your sonographer's report), I'd like to ask you why you didn't notice any change in curvature. 30% of reduction, if true, is a big result (it's almost half of the plaque gone!) and if science makes sense, you should have at the very least experienced an improvement in curvature (or deformities, if you have any). But you said that nothing of this has occurred. That's why I highly doubt what lots of urologists claim about their treatments' success.

Please, keep in mind that I'm not calling you a liar neither. You're not the first italian guy whom I've heard of he was told by his urologist his plaque reduced in size (as "confirmed" by the doppler), but couldn't personally see any change in curvature, deformities, shortening, etc. I'd just like to know what your urologist told you to explain the fact that your penis remained perfectly equal to how it was before your treatment, even tough your plaque reduced to almost half of its original size.

Just to make things clear, I have nothing against you and I'm happy for you if you're improving; I just hate these so called doctors who make a living out of people's disgraces, spilling their money out of their pockets and practically doing nothing to help them.

I finished my first 20-min session today. There is really not much to report: No pain, not even a tingle.

I wonder what to expect? Not much everyone is saying. But how come some profit? How to support the treatment?

Alexander, as we told you, iontophoresis + verapamil (as much as verapamil injection) are not the "cure", they just aim to improve the situation and arrest the progression of the disease. I hope you'll improve a little bit. Fighting this disease is a war, you have to be happy for every 1% of good results you have.
By the way, concerning to your question, the only way to support the treatment is to take oral medications as much as you can: Vit E, coenzyme Q10 300mg, Peironimev Plus, Pentox, and other supplements will support your therapy.

Update: I do feel some soreness now where the medication or eletric impuls must have went through the body. Lets hope ot goes away until tomorrow! Weird feeling. Nothing i am to concernd about, but tingeling weird....

I skipped a couple of iontophoresis appointments. Today was the 4th time. Afterwards, I had the feeling that the skin was really soft where the medication was placed. No changes in curve or indentation.

I wonder if it would be different if I had the iontophoresis appointments closer together?
