age: 61
noticed about 2 months ago a loss of sensitivity which usually ended with finally stopping intercourse with no ejaculation - no other symptoms; about 2 weeks ago had some pain during intercourse.  Examined and felt hard places.  Went to doctor a week ago. Dr. found 3 hard spots of plaque - I assumed in early stages, but he said had been there a while since more than one. After exam of penis, there could be a slight curvature to the left at the end third of penis during erection.
psychological aspect - freaked out and since reading about the disease, having trouble developing and maintaining erection.  It may be due to progression of disease but i'm thinking more mental.  It keeps creeping into my head if I'm going to be able to maintain the erection.  Also, due to lack of sensitivity, i'm probably not going to ejaculate and keep thinking about that.
Dr prescribed a course of steroids over a 6 day period - just finished.  Methylprednosolone to reduce inflmation I think.
Married to same person since twenties and she is understanding.
Been reading thru the forums and some pretty scary stuff.  I have insurance and financial resources - so money not an issue.
My first thought is to find a specialist and get on whatever I can as quickly as possible to minimize progression.
Southeast part of the US.
The thing that keeps coming to my mind - if it is plaque, there are a lot of diseases that have to deal with plaque reduction so should be something out there that would clear the plaque.
I appreciate any advice and want to move as fast as possible toward fixing this.

Question:  he mentioned a "flare up" - so this could go away in a few days/weeks and go away for time period?
And I read about the implants and return to normal "function" - but does it return sensitivity too?
ps - had testicular cancer about 9 years ago if that is relevant.

As I am always advising see a good Peyronies specialist as soon as you can.
You have to treat this disease now not tomorrow to stop progression and to reverse the symptoms.

Your last statement about testicular cancer could be the clue to your problems with erections and ejaculation.

You live in the south east so I would suggest a consultation with Dr. Douglas Milam at Vanderbilt in Nashville TN.  His web site is www.milamurology.com

The implant can help return sensitivity in most men, but it can take up to 2 years for the blood flow to redirect from the erection chambers to the glans. I suggest you try daily cialis and the VED exercise first.

Thanks for the info jackp - but full normal sexual activity followed immediately upon healing from the surgery.  Nothing changed for 9 years - full normal function.  I'll check into Vanderbilt.  And going back to my local uro for medication suggestion and  with notes from this forum until I can get there.
