Title: How much traction is too much
Post by: blackdiamond on August 10, 2017, 09:20:20 AM
I've been told by my Doc that the protocol after Xiaflex for the amount of time to do traction is 3 hours.
I can and want to do more....  Been averaging 4.5 hours and my Doc said limit it to 3 only as more can cause harm.
Can I get some feedback on this please.......Thanks

I hope you are taking some breaks in between. You should never wear it for 3 hours straight. If you are referring to a traditional traction device that has a noose it for sure restricts blood flow to the glans. And is why you should take some breaks in between.

I am afraid I know of no studies on traction and Xiaflex, so in the abscence of better evidence I'd suggest just doing exactly what your doctor says. He may have seen issues with other patients who used it longer.

Thanks so much for your responses. I think I'll back it off a bit.........
