Title: Verapamil then prp shot after?
Post by: Chitownguy on September 12, 2017, 07:47:05 PM
I had a prp shot done a couple weeks ago. I'd say my peyronie's symptom's have slightly improved after. But I can still feel the plaque and fibrosis in my penis. Like as if new healthy penile tissue grew but the plaque still remains in there.

So my question is, do you think it'd be a good idea/safe to get 1 session of verapamil injections (to help eliminate and flush away the plaque, then get another prp shot 2 weeks after the verapamil? I'm concerned if that timing is too close or if it's just right, or if that'd just be an overkill. It seems to make sense to me but looking for some sort of expert opinion.

Why Verapamil and not Xiaflex?
Proposing you to read about Verapamil injections results on the forum

Xiaflex is more effective. However, don't inject before of after so closely with Xiaflex, or you may experience a fracture, which is why I think the cycles are spaced so far apart.

The reason I'm wondering about Verapamil over Xiaflex is because I am not willing to pay the thousands of dollars it would cost for Xiaflex. But I appreciate the response.

Following my initial question tho..  I had the 2nd prp shot, and never got  the verapamil. I figured why adjust if it's working. Im 2 days post 2nd injection of the prp and everything feels better so far. Will def notice significant improvements in about a week or 2. But I'm gonna see how everything turns out after about 4-6 weeks. If the positive results are stabilizing and sustaining, then il follow up w another prp shot just to keep it going.  But if not then il comeback to considering verapamil. But I've decided to just stick w the prp until there's no more improvement. I highly suggest people get the prp shot, the doc can inject it directly into the spots where the plaque is if you ask him and explain your situation. It's definitely not cured or completely fixed after 1 shot. You'll need multiple over the course of a month or 2.  but yeah.. have definitely gotten some of my girth back and overall erection quality, and LESS PAIN. FINALLY.

I also wonder... how many times is it okay to get the prp shot? I imagine over time that inserting a needle could have an effect on the penis... but at the same time, the prp is sooo dense w healing and growth factors that I feel it just prevent any damage being done from the needle. So if anybody knows the answer about that, lmk. Sorry this verapamil topic kinda drifted into prp, I should maybe start a seperate post in the prp forum.. haha
