Title: Canadian Pharmacy scam?
Post by: warming on July 09, 2012, 07:00:47 AM
Hello again,
recently I got so frustrated with not being able to get a prescription for Pentox that I bought some from a "Canadian Pharmacy" site..
It appears the medicine was shipped from India.. I am getting the feeling that someone is just taking advantage of me, and that the medicine is probably fake.
Any advice?
thanks so much
Dean

Not all meds that come from india are fake. actually the worlds biggest generic drug factories are located in india. Thats because most european and US patent laws do not apply to india.
Actually the worlds biggest generic viagra and cialis production plants are in india. Pfizer and lilly only have patents for viagra and cialis in about 70 countries. The other countries are supplied by the indian companies. Its completely legal.

As for Pentox, the patent has expired years ago! there are allready like 5 or 6 generic products on the market, containing the same amount of pentox than Trental (which is the original pentox from sanofi - aventis who invented it)
Sandoz and others have been now making there own pentox for years. Also Indian companies. That does not meen it is a scam or fake.
Of course it also doesnt meen its not.
But only the fact it shipped from india is not the proof its bad. Its just a lot cheaper there.

(example: even Trental sold in europe is really cheap: like 15$ for 50 tabs. 20% of that is VAT (still 12$) -  pharmacy earns 20% of that. (remains 9$) then the wholesale company 20% (remain 7.20) then the pharma company (sanofi )like 50% 3.60$ left. lets say 1$ transportation, packaging and distribution another $.  so production will be like 1.50$ for that package... Bought in india at same price, you just add 2$ for shipping and the online pharmacy can charge you 12.50$ for the package and have a benefit of like 10$ per sold pack. (thats like 5x as much as a regular pharmacy)

PS: check if its "trental" or just a no name pentox.
also note i read on canadian pharmacy
QuotePlease note that not all products, including any referenced in this page, are shipped by our affiliated Canadian Pharmacy. We affiliate with other dispensaries that ship product to our customers from the following jurisdictions: Canada, Singapore, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Turkey, Mauritius, India, and the United States. The items in your order maybe shipped from any of the above jurisdictions. The products are sourced from various countries as well as those listed above. Rest assured, we only affiliate with our authorized dispensaries that procure product through reliable sources.

PS2: Just checked and they sell trental at $89 for 100 tabs which is really expensive.
See if you can get it at another online pharmacy at reasonable price (should not be more than $50.)

I too have never had issue with riverpharmacy. I haven't ordered from them in quite some time, but it was always straight forward when I did. I am naturally wary so when they moved from a .com domain to .ca I questioned why they changed address. Such practices appears to be becoming more common now though as .com domains can be seized more easily apparently. You see it happen with gambling and file sharing sites too, so I don't think it's anything to worry about in this case.

River pharmacy seems to be a very serious pharmacy.
I managed to order the Trental from them last month, but the customs refused to give it to me. (no drugs allowed in all EU from abroad, that's the law, so I don't understand how some people can get it even if they are in EU..??)
Customs even sent it to the laboratory to make an analysis of the pills and it was a real pentoxifylline, so it's a real thing from RP :) So they confiscated it and will probably destroy it. I informed RP about this situation and asked them if it is possible to refund somehow and they immediately refunded me, even if I didn't send the pills back to them. (as this is their refund policy).

I've had very good experiences with River too. Easy ordering and tablets turned up to me in the UK in just over a week

Ralf - sorry to hear yours were seized but good to hear they were tested and were the real thing !!!  :)

If any of you are coming to Spain, you can buy Pentox here without a prescription. Just tell the Farmacia that you are used to the drug and take it back at home.

[Suggest you read our rules regarding posting - Admin]

Not every Canadian Online Pharmacy is illegal.  I am ordering my drugs for last 3 years from canadian pharmacies ([Commercial link removed] and [Commercial link removed]). I have no issues with them.  I had already researched about it. and then placed my order from canadian pharmacy.
Check that:
I hope it will help you.
