Title: suspend pentox before first visit to the urologist?
Post by: pey ron on March 18, 2017, 10:31:26 PM
I have been taking up to 1800mg/day pentox for a couple of months, while waiting to get an appointment with a urologist. I procured it by myself...

Given they'll probably inject me to induce an erection and do a ultrasound on me, should I stop pentox for a few days before this first visit?

Could I have a hemorrhage because of the pentox when they perform the injection?

Could their blood flow measurements be skewed because of the pentox?

thank you!

In my opinion you should stop any medications you are on for a week except medications that are must for you to take
My example: Aspirin 100 mg that I am taking every day. I will never skip taking it

Pentox is not a blood thinner like Coumadin  or warfarin.  It softens the plaque. You should always ask though if any medications should be stopped prior to testing
