Title: Inflammation
Post by: AlecT on March 18, 2017, 05:00:47 AM
Anyone have any experience with having other issues that are non related to peyronies like injured knees etc that also have an inflammatory component. Does anyone know whether or not trying to work on both can affect the other. For instance, overworking a knee condition and sometimes overdoing it leading to inflammation. Does that then release chemicals that go off and affect the peyronies recovery?

If you have an active injury in your penis and your blood is full of inflammatory "agents" that aggrevate the situation it surely cant be good.
So bringing down the inflammation systemicly seems to make sense. Healthy diet is a big part of that... creating good blood so to speak.

With peyronies the problem is that it is trapped inflammation.

That could cause some complications if you have other injuries then. Work on one and not the other approach? Like for instance i have a tendinosis and chondromalacia patellae which is an overuse injury and often inflammed. Should i maybe be looking into anti-inflammatory drugs or something ? I saw another GP today to start working towards some more support and he has referred me to a specialist who might be able to assist me further. To what extent i am unsure.

Thanks for the reply btw, its most appreciated.

Yes, I think so. Inflammation has its use in the body and is a natural part of healing but if it is prolonged and chronic its harmfull.

Make sure you have healthy blood. This means healthy nutritition and avoidance of food that you might be allergic to, which can create inflammation too. Also having good oxygenation is needed which means exercise/walks in clean air. Seems basic but important.

If you search google for natural food to combat inflammation you find many hints. Medication can help too so it makes sense to hit the doc on this.

Your condition "tendinosis" sounds like you have some underlying problem with tissue and maybe the collagen process. Check for MSM and vitamin C. Both are important in creation of healthy tissue/collagen. Humans as only a handfull of other animals are the only ones who cant create their own vitamin C.
Try taking high doses of Vitamin C(ascorbic acid) for some days(increase dosage slowly to bowel tolerance maybe 10 gramms in 4-6 doses through the day). (search for vitaminC foundation in google to get informed)
I have a feeling it might help you and you might msis some building block in healthy collagen synthesis.
(adverse effects of high vitamin C can happen after many weeks regarding iron levels-so keep that in observation but overall its one of the safest supplements)
Also think about DMSO+vitamin C to transdermaly shuttle it to your tendons and penis/tunica(but get informed in detail before doing anything) DMSO is also an antinflammatory agent.

This is an amazing question, and I've always wanted an answer. A lot of doctors like to imagine things are localized and independent of one another. Most scientists as well. I have bad nerve pain in my hands and elbows which radiates to my face, and nobody has ever told me that could be possible. Brain scans and blood tests later, nobody knows the cause.

As for inflammation, I would love to know if my elbow and hand issue could contribute to Peyronie's inflammation.

I have read that an inflammation may favorite another inflammation in another part of the body, I had a very nasty case of herniated disk before the onset of the second plaque.

I'm embroiled in this battle and have been for better than 3 years now.  In late 2013, I developed Ulcerative Colitis, experienced a flair of Peyronie's that had been dormant for 12 years, and a flair of Vitiligo (skin condition) that had been dormant for about 5 years. They all hit at roughly the same time, with no apparent trigger, and I know the inflammation is all connected.

I'm about to go on a biologic treatment for the Colitis which will suppress my immune system. I fervently hope this will also stop my Peyronie's from progressing by turning off inflammation system-wide.

Fingers crossed.

Nemo

Did you check uric acid levels?
I have a bad inflammation and pain at may right feet that made me walk with a stick.
The doctor found high level uric acid, give me some medications to lower the uric acid level and the inflammation an it helped me a lot, the inflammation almost gone and the pain much lower level.
Wish you good luck with the treatment :)

James, I haven't gotten my latest batch of bloodwork results, but when I do, I'll look to see if uric acid is included.

Thanks,
