I have been treating my peyronies for about 6 months now - maybe a 5 percent reduction to 30% curve so far with the usual treatments - mainly meds and VED.
Scan shows one small calcification and another longer plaque.
Now then urlogist is suggesting shockwave - 4 weeks in a row for 15 mins. I think with corticosteroid injection as well.
Now it is odd but I had found some studies of good results but this forum seems very negative... The doctor is very positive about results - says it helps flexibility.
The price is around 200 dollars per session which seems reasonable compared to other prices I have seen.
Would appreciate views on this.
Hey Noncom!
Personnally, 4 shockwave sessions gave me a great but ephemeral decrease in pain (I was in the acute phase), a great but ephemeral erection boost, and costed me a great and definitive amount of money (400 + euros).
But maybe it could work in synergy with the injections, which clearly have a better chance to work per se... I'd give it a try, IF I had a lot of money^^......
Hi Noncom,
it would be great if you could report later on the results, but also would you be able to notice the type of machine used and if possible find out the frequency and energy settings used - I was considering buying a machine at one time but my guess is some of the research suggests the wrong settings could do more harm than good.
Hi.
I had !2 rounds of shockwave at a cost of $1800.00
This was after my Peyrones treatment was finished and was very successful.... went from 75 degree bend to 15 when done........
I did the shockwave strictly for ED....... Sorry to say it did not help me.........Now I'm working on getting my T up which should be the fix......
Good luck......
The treatment has finished now. Here is the odd situation I have now... since start of treatment the calcified plsque has pretty much gone. Great news apart from the benefit from the curve is still there so either not completely gone or another plaque causing the curve... This could have been the injection or pentox or cialis or VED.. not sure.
Will cintinue on meds and VED now and monitor progress...
Which injections?
corticosteroid injection. Could not afford xiaflex at this stage ;-(
From Noncom:
QuoteThis could have been the injection or pentox or cialis or VED..
In my opinion, could have been just injections
