Title: Just Been Diagnosed with Peyronie's at 37
Post by: Basscom on June 13, 2015, 01:08:36 PM
Two days ago I was officially diagnosed with Peyronie's. I had suspected it for weeks but to get it confirmed was a blow.

I cannot pinpoint a moment when I damaged my penis to result in Peyronie's. About four months ago I started to notice a slight pain, like tightness with erections and during sex. I never thought much of it and assumed it would go away. Then about three months ago I  got the shock of my life when I realised that the head of my penis had bent to the left. Then a month ago I felt a small lump in the middle of the shaft while showering. My first thought was cancer but after researching online I suspected Peyronie's.

Initially I was in a bad place mentally, thinking why me, life is over, never going to be able to have sex again etc. Luckily my wife has been really supportive and this has made a massive difference to my mental state. I suppose my main worry was what would she think, would she be disappointed, would she leave etc. Thankfully most women do not think about sex/penises like men do. Women love the man not the penis it seems. I'm so glad I'm happily married with kids as if I was single then it would be much more stressful. Having a supportive partner if definitely a massive help psychologically.

Since then the curvature doesn't seem to have gotten worse, still approx 20-25% but I've now noticed a slight dent in the middle with a slight hinge/bend upwards. I can only assume this will get worse. Luckily I've found a really good urologist who is very knowledgable on Peyronie's and Xiapex. I've been prescribed Pentox for the next three months then I'm returning to assess where we go from there.

Finding out you are not alone has really helped me a lot. I'm quite hopeful about the treatment going forwards, especially with the news of Xiapex. Then again, I know the condition is meant to get worse so if I see evidence of this I may start to struggle again.

Fingers crossed...

You are at the beginning with the disease, you should do more than just taking Pentox in my opinion.
I was adding VED, low dose Cialis and CoQ10/Ubiquinol.
Maybe some additional supplements.
By the way, how many Pentox per day you are taking? How you are tolerating it?

Welcome aboard! I don't have peyronies myself, but been lurking around for some time. You've come to a good place. Glad to hear you found a nice doctor, who is knowledgeable on Peyronies. That seems to be hard to come by.

Good luck, and read these forums thoroughly.

Thanks for replies and advice. I pick up my prescription for pentox on Monday and it's 400, three times a day. I'll start looking at your suggestions right away. If I'm at the start then I guess I can do more to combat it.

You may find 3 x 400mg hard to tolerate to begin with. There are, or can be, numerous side effects taking Pentox. If you experience gastric problems, increased anxiety etc, reduce the dose and hopefully your body will gradually build it's tolerance.

It's difficult to say because some have no problems, others are hit quite badly.

Don't forget to take Pentox always with meal, last not later than 6 PM

Today I'm going to start on the following:-

Ubiquinol - 100mg, 3 times a day
L-Arginine - 500mg, 3 times a day
L-Carintine- 500mg, 3 times a day

I need to be prescribed Cialis so will ask.

Tomorrow I pick up my Pentox - 400mg, 3 times a day.

How does the above look? Is it too much at once? My body will get a shock no doubt...

Your treatment sounds good.
Proposing you to start with one 400 mg Pentox in the morning with meal, increase after the side effects are gone.
You may start same with the supplements also.
Check out VED, you may want to add it to your treatment.

Just a point;

It's Acetyl l Carnitine that you want, not ordinary L Carnitine. There is a difference.
