Title: Need advice on what to ask for - Dr. Appt Friday
Post by: Jeepman47 on January 19, 2015, 06:20:17 PM
Guys,

First of all thank you for having such a great resource to go to and a place to actually talk about what's going on instead of Googling our best to find what fits us!  I check these forums a few times a day, being I have access to it with my line of work...  and I am learning so much.

Okay, now here are my questions.  I'm gong to see my regular doc on Friday and I need some advice on what to ask for, medically speaking.  I am not taking anything right now, but this doc is excellent for writing a script for whatever I have found or think may work.  He'll tell me if it's BS or "let's give it a try".  So far, he's the only one I really have in my corner, as I've seen multiple urologists and heard the same thing, "Nothing can be done".  So, should I ask for Pentox?  I've seen it mentioned several times today alone.  I'm not sure I can do the injection of Xiaflex, but I will talk to him about it anyway.  Again, hemophilia, which causes severe bleeding and swelling issues... so I'm not sure an injection wouldn't just make matters worse.  Any thoughts please?

Hi Jeep. I'm not familiar with how Pentox impactc Hemophilia, so you'll want to check on that, but if there's no contraindication, Pentox is the best thing we've got going right now medically, unless you're looking at Xiaflex, which you're probably not ready for yet anyway (especially if you haven't yet tried Pentox).  Find a couple of the studies concerning Pentox (in our library), print them off and tell him you'd like to try it - explain how you came to find out about it - it will help establish that you've researched this and are not just hitting Google and going for the first thing that pops up.

Right now, Pentox is really the first line of treatment, and the sooner the better.

Best,
Nemo

Jeep

In my opinion, add to the Pentox low dose Cialis and VED. Ask prescription for both, VED for ED not Peyronies in the prescription.

Should I be using the VED even if at this time erections are not an issue?

The reason to add VED to the treatment in your case is to avoid development of curve, bent, hourglasses.
Same regarding low dose Cialis. As you don't have ED, 2.5 mg per day. Some researches showed better effect of Pentox with the added Cialis.

Hi Jeep -

I have been recently diagnosed with Peyronies Disease and it has been a nightmare navigating through the red tape with the insurance company and getting appointments to see the doctor.  I had my first appointment on Jan 5th and I am scheduled for my first injection on April 7, so it has been a long wait.

Just curious to see what you have found out with your treatments or anything else you can share.

Thanks!
