Title: Star
Post by: QuackAttack on March 17, 2018, 11:26:22 PM
Started Verapamil on Friday after 8 cycles of Xiaflex. My Xiaflex treatments reduced my curve from about 50 degrees to 25-30 degrees. Now I will go through a twelve week course of Verapamil, one injection every two weeks. After the first injection, I will say I expected more bruising and swelling than Xiaflex. To my surprise, no swelling and just a few small bruises. Hopefully the plaque was broken up enough that the Verapamil will knock the rest out. I am my URO's first patient doing Verapamil after a full course of Xiaflex. So, I will be a case study for him. Hopefully, it goes so well that he will help others receiving treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I saw a guy go in to see my URO just before me, two blown off legs and a bent package to boot. I thought I had it bad having a bent package, but I'm not missing any limbs.

Same question as James. Also, quack... Thank you for what you have done to this board! Sharing so much of your experiences on xiaflex and verapamil!

James,

I had my third injection a week ago Friday. I go in for my 4th next Friday. I think I am going to have my URO investigate if there is plaque more into the circumcision line. I have never really felt a palpable lump. However, I do feel a bit of an indentation even in the flaccid state just inside of the circumcision line and I have been getting all of my injections Xiaflex and Verapamil just outside of the circumcision line. I just have a feeling that the indentation is actually where the injection needs to be.
