Title: Why are people still wanting to do STAGE and not the Xiaflex injections?
Post by: midnightninja1 on November 03, 2018, 04:50:41 PM
Just seems to be that the best option would be to try the injections instead of a more intense and risky surgery. Is there something I'm missing? I'm thinking of getting Xiaflex injections but have known of STAGE for a long time, was going to do that if nothing else worked.

Most begin w xiaflex.  Consult a peyronies specialist to factor in any individual circumstances.

Thanks for the reply. I live in Australia so I don't think we have a peyronies specialist but will start my search. I've had a congenital curvature, urologist suggested nesbit and I said no. Am 21 so want to get this fixed.

I did my research few months ago. As I could remember, Xiaflex injection is used to treat Dupuytren's contracture, or bent finger, and can also be used to cure peyronie's disease. Peyronies' disease and congenital curvature, although behave the same, are quite different.

Correct, xiaflex cannot help cogenital curve.  How severe is the curve, surgery has risks so you want to be sure it's absilutely needed.

Interesting. That is not how my Urologist explained it to me, I will have to go back and get an ultrasound to see if there is plaque or not.
