Title: First time poster. Had plication surgery yesterday.
Post by: Normzfa3ts on June 06, 2017, 11:10:31 PM
Hi people.
Have browsed forum for years now, finally bit the bullet and had surgery just yesterday.
Here is a brief rundown of myself.

Have had what was thought as peyronies with about a 45 degree curve to the left since i can remember.
I am 31 years old now currently, from Melbourne Aus.
Have had an appointment a couple months ago with Dr Chris Love.
He tells me i have congenital curvature and no scarring/peyronies present. And is a relatively easy fix.
No problem having surgery as i have suficcient length (about 18cm erect)
Yesterday was surgery day..
He tells me last night i have lost rougly 10mm in length. So im assuming still around the 17cm mark fingers crossed. which was to be expected anyway.
To be honest im not feeling like 10mm is going to look or feel any different, simply because its straight now.
I had the plication that he does, without circumcision.
I was home the same day/night of surgery.
Apparently he had done 2 or 3 before me the same day and another one afterwards.
I asked to see a photo of the finished product and he did that for me, seems like everything went to plan by the photo.
Currently sitting here typing this not even 24 hours after the surgery, quite bruised, quite swollen but little to no pain at all. Cost was around or just under $7000aud which i funded myself.
Now i did see somewhere in here that someone had a bad experience with Dr Chris Love?
I can say so far its been great, but i suppose results over time and especially the next few weeks of healing will be the real test.
Sorry for my weird dot point way of writing all this lol.
Cheers guys.

Norm

Can you give us some more information regarding your surgery?
You stated:
QuoteI had the plication that he does
He shortened the longest side?

Yes he shortened the longer side as we agreed a graft wasnt necessary in my case. ☺

Any surgery to such a delicate and complex part of the male anatomy inherently carries a degree of risk. No form of penile surgery, and no surgeon has a 100% success rate. There will always be failures. Run a mile from any surgeon who tries to tell you differently.

I hope and expect that your outcome will be good.

I hope so too, last night i got to shower for the first time. Bandage has come off completely exposing the incision. I must say it looks very neat and i think will not be noticeable at all, so theres one thing i dont have to worry about anymore.
Some pain waking up in the morning due to spontanious erection attempts, which quickly subside. Not enjoyable but not unbearable either.
To be honest 2 days in and its already killing me to see the final product, i have a million thoughts running around my head, will i hate it?will i love it?, will it work?  Was it even worth doing in the first place?
The anticipation is killing me!

Normzfa3ts -- There's plenty of negativity on the Forum from some members. Ignore them.
What the heck -- you've had the surgery -- I will CHEER YOU ON!!!!

There are many thousands of men who've had surgery to the nether regions of their body -- one component or another. A fraction of them have been here on the Forum, and some of their very successful stories are recorded.

Now is the time to be thinking positive thoughts, take good care of yourself, be mindful of ALL of the surgeons instructions, and use good personal hygiene for infection control during first weeks.

Looking forward to your updates!

Regards,

John

Thank you john, positivity is definately what i need!
Its amazing how fast this has all happened since the cunsultation maybe no more than 2 months ago..
Managed to accidentaly get erect in the shower earlier, and well i didnt fight it and just let it "happen".. the doc assured me it was normal and ok to get the odd one while healing and that i wouldnt damage any work he's done, just that i might get some pain...
Well, i dont know how, but no real pain, just a little "tighter" than normal (due to still some swelling) but pretty damn straight (maybe slightly off but hard to tell with un-even swelling) and even measured in a 6 3/4 inches which is no more than about 10mm shorter than i was, im hoping with a more confident solid erection i can produce 7". Still reasonably happy with that though. Now to just heal up properly over the coming weeks and put it to proper use.
Also i have a follow up appointment on July the 7th so we'll see how that goes too. Much happier this arvo and alot less worried. ☺

I should add that my own surgery for Peyronies, via The Egydio Technique was also successful.

However, what I said is just plain fact, not negativity. Before you consider any penile surgery check very, very carefully exactly who you are letting near your dick with a scalpel.

So.
9 months on, all is well.
Have had a curve slightly come back, maybe 10° or thereabouts, nothing to worry about.
Yes there is now 2 small lumps on one side which im told are permanenent, but, can only be felt when flaccid(not seen), when erect blends into everything else and is totally fine, everything works as it should.
Also no pain or discomfort whatsoever now.

I did have one mishap during recovery, which was waking up one morning and finding the stitches had come apart, in a panic i went back to the hospital,  in which steri strips were used from then on and were very effective.
Only problem is now the scar is a little more prominent than we had hoped due to that happening, also not a huge deal because its mostly on the underside, and a flat smooth scar anyway (more of a discoloured patch than a heavy scar if u get me)
Length loss im unsure of because i really was unable to measure properly in the first place because of the curve.
I thought i was around or just over 7" to begin with, im now just a fraction under... Maybe still tip 7" on a particularly excited occasion..
Flaccid length i feel is smaller than it used to be, but never really measured that so its hard to tell. (Could just be my paranoid self)..

Do i regret having the surgery? No.
Was it worth around 7k? Yeah i think so.
Would i reccomend it to someone else? Yes

Since having the surgery ive also kicked my alcohol problem, ive not smoked for over a year, ive taken up fitness training and am turning my crap around for the better.
All round things are alot more positive and healthy.

Just thought i'd share since its been awhile.
Cheers 😉

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your success story.

I'd do the same if I had to choose again, too.
