Title: Healing while small -- a theory of acute peyronie's cause
Post by: Steveo on September 01, 2015, 12:39:27 AM
First I'll say that that I don't have any theories or ideas of why chronic Peyronie's happens.  The Peyronie's that isn't in regard to an injury but which seems to strike certain men suddenly and causes penile fibrosis even without injury.

However, I think that acute Peyronie's, the kind that occurs in direct response to injury, may simply be caused by poor healing of the tunica while it's in a flaccid state.  I don't think it happens every time, but the worse the injury and the worse the penile bloodflow the more likely it will happen.

This is just an idea. Basically, my idea is that, if somehow a guy could cause his penis to be fully erect for the full duration of healing a penile injury, he wouldn't develop peyronies, or at least he wouldn't develop curvature or hourglassing.  The fact that the penis is injured and then heals and scars while in a flaccid state means that it simply heals while small and then resists getting large again.

This theory would predict that guys who use traction and VED immediately after an injury would likely develop less curvature and/or hourglassing than guys who start treatment months (or even years) later, since the penis is spending more time in a larger/longer state during the healing process.

If true, then those men suffering a penile injury should start traction/VED as soon as possible afterward and for as many hours a day as possible.

We are advising every new member to start treatment as soon as possible.
Agree with you, early treatment has the best chances to help.

Gentle VED would likely be the best approach...fill the penis up with blood, but do not attempt to get an actual "erection", as such may aggravate the injury.

The concept is a bit like a splint...the bone will "heal", but needs to be in the correct position while doing so.  The tunica will "heal", but needs to be in an expanded state when doing so or it will not be able to expand later...  :/

There is a study on this forum about the use of traction in early acute Peyronie's and the results were good, so though we have no idea whether or not the proposed method of action is what is causing the benefit, the proposed treatment certainly does seem to work.

The historical methods of treatment for various health problems are very effective and work quickly. The acupuncture is most promising among all historical healing methods. I am going to visit [Link removed by admin]  center for my shoulder pain. If you have any other recommendations then please share!

Admin- Steven64, I removed your link as this was to an acupuncture site. This is a Peyronies site and there is no study published showing any connection between the two. If you are here for Peyronies help feel free to make posts or questions in regards to Peyronies Disease.
