Hi All,

First up let me just say thank you to everyone here who may contribute, and to those who keep web forums alive. I appreciate these hives of discussion.

Perhaps some of the more experienced members here can share some of their knowledge with me in this confusing time.

33 year old healthy male here.

Two months ago I discovered a very small painless pea like lump at the base of my penis. It can be hard to find, it doesn't move, it's just small and requires a bit of finesse to find it. It's sort of between where my scrotum begins and my penis burgeons out from my body. I asked my doctor to feel for it today, and he said it may be Peyronies disease. He asked if I had any experiences of ED, i said no. Any pain, I said no, although I feel like I had a mild sensation which caused me to go looking in the first place. In the time since I discovered the lump, and now (approx 2 months give ore take a week) I don't believe it has changed size. My penis is not bent or indented either.

I had reasons to be looking for lumps in my body- I have had minor generalised lymph node inflammation (and still do) for about four months now, when I thought I had HIV or some other kind of viral infection. A series of blood tests over three months showed I was negative for these, and a full blood picture showed no signs of inflammation throughout the body, nor anything suspicious regarding anything else they tested for. I had an encounter with a woman which gave me oral gonorrhea (hence my dual fear of HIV), and the doc explains my swollen lymph nodes this way, saying sometimes the immune system can remain engaged after a heavy infection like this.

When the doctor examined me he made a bunch of casual throwaway comments- such as "there are connections between the penis and the testes that sometimes develop benign blockages or cysts", and then "it feels like scar tissues, usually from a damage caused during rough sex (cue the laughs and general friendly un-serious banter), which we call peyronies disease". He shows me the Peyronies wiki page, just enough to see the picture of a bent penis, he kinda makes a joke about it and says I can read this at home.

I went in to this appointment thinking the lump could be penile cancer, which we reassured me I did not have... so you can see how the mood became light upon this revelation. Regarding penis cancer, he said there's no need for an ultra sound or anything, but said he would refer me for an ultrasound to reassure me. Mentioned nothing about the Peyronies at this point, so I am actually confused if he even diagnosed me with it or not.... in any case, he said to read about Peyronies on wiki when I got home. Needless to say, when I did read about it on wiki my heart sank.

After a short time googling, it seems like most people get diagnosed when they see their penis bending. I am not certain I was even diagnosed, but as I said above, I don't have any bending, pain, or ED, just this small lump in what feels like is probably my erectile tissue at the base of my penis, but could very well be a vein or part of that system between the testes and the penis.

Does this sound like anything Peyronies related, to the men of this forum who have experience with Peyronies?

How much do the symptoms of Peyronies vary? The impression I get is they can vary wildly from the super mild and unnoticeable to painful, bent penis, and erectile dysfunction. Nothing I've read about Peyronies Disease so far fits what I'm experiencing, except that my lump could be scar tissue. However most information I've found about it has been rather morbid, depressing, and made me feel like I was on a helpless decline into the worst symptoms.

I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow for a little clarification on things, and of course book in that ultrasound appointment.

Until then, any advice men?

Cheers,

T

Paolo

Yep, pea like lump, I would describe mine as a BB pellet just below the glans on the dorsal (top) of the penis.

Because you have noticed this early you may want to discuss Pentox 400mg x3 per day (always with food) as it supposedly helps during the acute phase of peyronie's.
If you get a confirmed diagnosis of peyronie's then you can kiss goodbye to rough sex of any sort and hello to anxiety and doubt when using your dick.

Watch the oral gonorrhoea, could leave bio-film and very difficult to clear up, you might want to try C8 100% caprylic acid orally, very anti-viral  :)

Glad that you have taken a moment to register and welcome aboard  :)

Why kiss goodbye rough sex? Do you get pain following sex?

Paolo

Some consider peyronie's is an auto-immune disease, and has a genetic component to its cause.
If this pea size lump is the start of peyronie's then you will need to think, and use your dick with care, otherwise it will develop, usually a bend at some point along with pain either flaccid or erect and possibly ED due to loss of sensitivity.
I would check your dick every morning and note even the slightest of changes, I sincerely hope you don't have peyronie's as it, initially anyway, devastates you mentally and physically until acceptance sets in.

It's difficult to find information, and solid information, about how it progresses, and how long it takes etc.

So you're saying that if it's Peyronies, everytime you use your dick, you injure it, causing further scarring, and more plaque building up in the tissue?

Sex doesn't damage your dick if you have peyronies if used carefully.  Make sure you're at least 80% hard, avoid partner on top position where dick could slip out and get crushed, etc.  the ultrasound should be able to identify if the lump is scar tissue, so you're on the right track.  If it is scar tissue, start pentox and low dose cialis to prevent any progression.  If it is peyronies you couldn't have caught it any sooner and will hopefully avoid any damage or ED.
