Explain how blooflow helps the tunica heal

How does bloodflow (erections) help the tunica heal?? It was to my understanding that the tunica s superficial and it's only function is to stretch and constrict, meaning only the corpora actually have blood flowing through them. So wouldn't bloodnflow just mean stretching the tunica?

Tunica is smooth muscle. Peyronie's scar is excessive and chaotic collagen after trauma pinching the Tunica.

Traction and VED is to (try) to stretch safely the chaotic collagen repair in order for an erection to fill and appear normal at full erection. Peyronie's is complicated by some guys have one layered Tunica, two layered Tunica, and rarer still three layers. Thing is you have no idea how many layers of Tunica you may have, hence someone with a one layered Tunica is at far greater risk of injury, so we each have no idea when/whether this sh!^^y condition will/could strike us  :(
You also have the potential for the deformity to change as collagen takes up to 12 Months to mature.

Feel free to chip in if I am incorrect  :-\

I understand both the VED and traction help to remodel the tunica plaque to Health tissue.  As does daily low dose cialis, heat, etc

Paolo: thanks! So it does seem like I am right. It isn't really about about bloodflow healing the tunica, it's about stretching. So VED, erections, all the same when it comes to helping Peyronie's right? I read somewhere that there's two layers in the tunica, a vertical layer and horizontal, one for length and one for girth. I have never heard that everyone different amounts of layers but I'm going to check it out. In my case erecrions have only hurt me since the last trauma I've had because the scar tissue hasn't even been allowed to close up and close the wound (IMO). This is why i was asking about blood flow. I was wondering if completely avoiding erections and even going on anti erection Meds (FOR A SHORT TIME) would be beneficial. After about a week or a few days of no erections I would do traction and ved until my regular erections come back.

There's no Scientific evidence to show that erections aggravate peyronies. In fact, it's just the opposite one wants to regain nocturnal erections to overcome peyronies.

Hi, i'm sure the use of a VED would help you, just take it very slowly to start with.

Yes, of course Cialis, heat etcetera, a multi angle approach really, any soreness, or aching from these protocols needs a mind-set to not aggravate current gains  :)

Blood needs to move through the penis to clear out reactive oxygen species, tgf-beta, hematoma or sticky blood, and push oxygen rich blood through your penis. Traction does not merely stretch the scar tissue, it reduces a number of cytokines in the penis that cause inflammation, likely due to the blood moving around. Without fresh blood / oxygen, you get hypoxia, which is a lack of oxygen, which DIRECTLY causes fibrosis and then scarring.

Tsanchez. Right now Peyronie's isnt the most pressing issue for me. It's that I think I had a minor penile fracture that isn't healing. Yes I have scar tissue from it already. But it's not a constant pain. I literally feel tiny tearing sensations if I keep erections for too long. I have good erections.

Neo: thanks man. But can I get an explanation in your opinion for why I get tearing sensations from an injury that happened a month ago? It seems as of right now all I need is to avoid erections. Please read my post titled "androcur after minor penile fracture" It would mean a lot to me if you could chime your opinion in on that idea. I understand how important blood is for scarring. But right now it seems I need to let it heal and that's it , and deal with the scarring later. I know how traction reduces TGF , but how about a cut that keep a re opening over and over? In that case erectioms can only harm correct?

Bloodflow helps the tunica heal because it brings oxygen in the area and then reduce the amount of oxidative stress and free radicals, that are responsible for the deposit of collagen, which - as you know - leads to the development of fibrosis. That should be why there's a lot of people - based on what I read here - that develop Peyronie's after ED and not vice versa, as it usually happens.

The fact that you suffered from a fracture doesn't make things different in my opinion. If you haven't got surgery in the next 48 hours, then you're facing the same problems that people with Peyronies Disease have to deal with and, based on what was said before, erections are still necessary, in order to get a better outcome.

I gave a look at your other thread, where you asked tips for drugs like Androcur, in order to avoid erections. I personally think it wouldn't be useful, but rather potentially damaging. It looks like asking for drugs to stay awake because you suffer from sleepwalking: you would have certainly solved the problem, as long as you don't sleep, but it won't do anything for it, once you'll come back to sleep and you can't even know in advance what kind of other crappy  problems you'll have to deal with because of the insomnia's choice.

By the way, I'm no expert. These are just my two cents.

Werther. Thanks. No doubt erecfions are necessary. The thing is, I'm getting TOO many erections.. if I were to go on androcur, I'd do it the smart way. where after a short test of maybe 2-3 days I'd start light traction and then start using the ved. That way I have complete control of how long I do the erectikns, I keep bloodflow going, and I make sure the scarring doesn't set in

Erections should not cause scarring, so unless your doc is saying avoid erections I wouldn't worry.

I have had occasionally 'electric shock' type sensation in my penis, interestingly this resulted in a 'slight' reduction of my peyronie's curve, not sure but it could have been fibrosis/scarring breaking up, idk  :-\

This also resulted in me having more semi-erections spontaneously during the day, which is nice  :)

Paolo. Mine is definitely not a good thing because the result is pain, a more protruded lump, and EQ issues after the tearing sensation occurs

Lamens summary from a uro. Not one that treated me. The penis is flaccid more than it is errect. When it's trying to heal, it's doing so mainly in the flaccid state. Plaque forms and keeps the errect penis from functioning properly, in most cases. Add pain, ed, insufficient blood flow and your penis isn't doing proper maintenance with nighttime erections.
