My question has to do with the onset of peyronie's-related ED. Quick history: Noticed a lump three weeks ago, made an appointment with my physician, tried not to worry. I was still getting spontaneous erections, was easily aroused by thought, etc. My wife and I had normal sex one week after the lump discovery, no problems.

Then I had my appointment, and my doctor told me it was likely fibrosis. I looked up peyronie's and devoured as much info as I possibly could. Freaked myself out. Stopped having erections. Stopped even allowing myself to think about having erections. I did try a couple of times in that second week to get one, but it took a lot of stimulation, and the quality/firmness was not good. My wife and I did have sex that week, too, exactly two weeks after discovering the lump. That was the best erection I'd had all week, but I'd say it was still at probably 80%.

Earlier this week, I saw a urologist who agreed with the peyronie's diagnosis (no ultrasound) and prescribed 5 mg daily Cialis to help with blood flow. I have noticed a "fuller" feeling since I started taking it three days ago, but still no spontaneous erections. Still takes a lot of stimulation.

Anyway, my current feeling is that my issue is mostly mental since erections were normal until I freaked myself out. I do have bad health anxiety in general, and it's a powerful thing. Should the Cialis be making things better if that's the case?

I don't feel like things could have gotten this bad this quickly just because of my lump. The lump is still the same size it was the day I discovered it, and I was still functioning normally for a week or so afterward.

This is totally psychological. Your fear/stress response triggers adrenaline. Adrenaline would be a great nasal decongestant. Guess how nasal decongestants work? They vasoconstrict the turbinates in your nodes, making them shrink. What are the turbinates? They are cavernous bodies. Where else do you have caveronous bodies? In your penis!

Note: adrenaline is a vasodilator in some tissues and a vasoconstrictor in some other tissues. It depends of what kind of adrenaline receptors are preponderant in different tissues. In cavernous bodies, adrenaline acts as a vasoconstrictor.

Agreed, that this is anxiety related.  Cialis will work.  It has a long 1/2 life in the body.  The 10 and 20 mg tablets are the "36 hours tablets" because hang around longer than a day.  You cant take that dose daily.  The 2.5 and 5mg is daily use.  It still hangs around longer then a day, just at lower levels initially.  As you take each day the level inside your body will increase each day.  So they usually say to give it 72 hours to get a quality erection like you will with the 10 mg tablets.  You are at three days now so it should just be at the start of the good erection effects.
55 - Onset May 2017.  38 degree bend up.  Failed Xiaflex treatment.  Still functional so I decided to stop treatments.  Only take 400mg Co-Q10 and occasionally use Restorex

Thank you guys so much for the reality check! So, to update, this morning I woke up with the first morning wood I've had in a couple of weeks, and I can't tell you how relieved I feel, just to know that it still functions. Yeah, it wasn't perfect, maybe a little shorter than usual, kinda soft glans, and still that little indentation where the lump is. Of course I'm making every effort to stop the peyronie's in its tracks, but the really important thing to me is just that I can still function. I'm a young married guy with a lot of years left, and the thought of losing that was too much for me to handle. The anxiety is still there, but I'm trying to push through it.
