Is there a difference between Peyronie's and a normal penile injury?

I may have recently injured myself from what I assume was sex with a girl on top while I was only semi-erect two weeks ago. I had that rough sex and now, last night, suddenly, during masturbation, I realized that I was in pain at the base of my penis, only on the left side. I was masturbating quite vigorously last night, and I admit that with the positioning of my left hand, it is also possible that this itself may have caused the injury instead. I do think it strange that I noticed no abnormal lean or pain my penis until last night. It is on the top-middle of the left side, just above the base, inside and slightly below the surface, which seems to be where the corpus Cavernosum is.

I haven't been able to maintain a solid erection since I first noticed that pain last night. There is a subtle leftwards  lean, mostly during the onset and waning of my erection. This lean is something I have never seen in my penis, and I feel confident that I would know because I masturbate at least twice a day. Normally I can maintain a very solid erection, particularly when I flex my stomach muscles and my thigh muscles. As of tonight, I could not maintain a full erection even when flexing these muscles. I'm getting about, I'd say, 90% if I flex everything. Funnily enough, the pain subsides when I'm as erect as I can get.

It feels somewhat like muscle aches I have had in the past; a sharp, warm ache that radiates outwards and dully throbs in periods of lull. While it seems obvious to me that this is a penile injury, it is unclear whether this is Peyronie's. Do all injuries to the corpus cavernosum become Peyronie's? Does pain that presents this way mean that I am already in the course of developing Peyronie's, and that the injury was acquired earlier? The frequency and intensity of my masturbation habits makes it difficult for me to discern.

I have had prostatitis pain in the past, probably due to perineal pressure from a bike seat, but I've never had pain like this before. I'm pretty worried.

What can I do to help? I've already decided to stop masturbating. Should I massage the area? Apply ice? Take anti-inflammatories? In massaging the area to temporarily alleviate the pain, I cannot find any hard surfaces or abnormalities in comparison to the other side.

I hope none of this is TMI.

What exactly happened with you and the girl, during sex? Also... What symptoms you had after that supposed sex injury?

ConcernedandWorried

I had no discernible symptoms. All noticeable symptoms occurred in the last 36 hours. Even last night, after I experienced the pain, my penis had not yet developed the subtle lean I noticed today.  The pain seems to come and go. More of a weak, weak throb when I am standing. Can an injury like this heal without intervention? I started taking Tylenol's and doing a cold compress.

Peyronies is a healing disorder or condition.  It is an injury or some damage that heals as a scar, which is a disorganized collagen plaque.  The plaque is less flexible then the regular tissue and that causes the bending.  If you think of a cut on you hand, sometimes the collagen in your skin layers heal fine, and your don't see the cut anymore and the area has normal flexibility.  However sometimes during healing a scar forms, that is where collagen fills into the area in a disorganized way.  You see it as a scar and that area of your skin doesn't move nicely in concert with the surrounding skin.  Its like a knot that forms in a bunch of ropes they are supposed to move together.  The ropes that got knotted don't move as efficiently as the ropes that didn't knot up.  All this being said, I think its too soon to call it Peyronies, but typically it can start from what happened.  I would recommend you abstain from sex and masturbation for a while to allow it to heal.  Also stress, like wondering if you injured yourself, can be responsible for soft erections.  So I would say relax and worry a little less.  Listen to your body, and keep your eye on things.

Tylenol for the pain, and cold compress is probably a good start.  If in a few days its not improving, maybe a urologist visit.  Not sure if they would do an ultrasound to see if there is some damage there.  Hope its just a minor injury that heals normally.
55 - Onset May 2017.  38 degree bend up.  Failed Xiaflex treatment.  Still functional so I decided to stop treatments.  Only take 400mg Co-Q10 and occasionally use Restorex

At day four now, the pain is mostly gone. I'm noticing a very subtle left lean and possible hourglassing on one side, from flaccid to semi-erect. There is what looks to be a star shaped discolouration on the surface, although it moves with the foreskin if I go to inspect it.

I went to the ER on the second day, when i first made the post. Doctors said whatever the problem was, it couldn't be that bad because there was nothing that they could feel with their fingers and no visible bruising.

Is this peyronie's, or is it natural for the function of the corpus Cavernosum to be briefly affected in the immediate aftermath of an injury? What can I do to ensure that if this is peuronie's, it does not get worse?

Concerned and worried. The day after my recent injury . I couldn't get an erection. Complete ED I guess from the trauma. My erections are back now although not as good. It's strange it took you two weeks to feel the trauma. Mine bothered me the next day. Anyway, rest your penis man. Stop trying to get an erection. Don't watch porn to try and induce one. Just let it rest. Try to get the supplements advocated on this site and I'd try to get pentox if I were you, just in case you are experiencing peyronies. If you have pain ice your penis for short periods of time. Be careful with the ice because leaving it on too long or using it directly on skin Will have serious consequences
Penis injury in late 2017. A lump formed at injury site that caused no deformity, just pain and a palpable lump. Pain is improving through proper rest and use, diet, and mindfulness. I am always learning and looking to share things that have helped.

Over the past two nights I have begun getting strong nocturnal erections again, presumably because I have stopped masturbating frequently for the first time in years. As they ebb, I can see what is an obvious left curve halfway up the shaft. It is very slight, almost unnoticeable when erect, but severe (relatively speaking, maybe 5-10 degrees) in the interim between flaccid and erect. When flaccid, it is far more noticeable than when erect, albeit not quite as bad as it is halfway full.

At this point it seems clear that it is Peyronie's. The pain has finally subsided to an ache that disappears when I stand up, and only returns when I sit down or when the penis is jostled. In consideration that erections may obstruct healing, I considered masturbating gently, using only the head, although I stopped myself for fear of further damage. Even in momentarily attempting it, I fear that the damage has gotten worse. I am in full panic mode.

The ER doctor suggested avoiding erections and "touching it", but they seem to occur nocturnally and I am afraid that I am inducing friction in my sleep. I've avoided wearing underwear and have been sleeping bottomless or only in a loose pair of pajama bottoms.

I have an appointment with the best public urologist in my city on the 22nd. What else can I do? Are these erections putting me at further risk? As pathetic as it is, the necessity of avoiding masturbation, and even erections themselves, is extremely difficult for me. I told myself I'd go a month, and I already attempted at 5 days (I *seemed* to have been gentle enough to not cause further pain).

Things did not go well. I went to the best urologist in the city, who knew nothing of Peyronie's. They recommended me to a urologist who claims to be the local expert on the issue. He was dismissive and told me everything would be fine. Seven months in now, I am definitely not fine, and my Peyronie's has continued to progress, despite Cialis and Pentox per standard.

Can you describe exactly how it has progressed? Can you feel the scar tissue? Has it grown?

VED and Traction can help, which I believe you aren't yet doing. But with your issue and lack of a full erection, I wonder if it is safe and so request some other members' thoughts on it before I recommend.

Hey concerned... I am also in Canada, Ontario. I found a two clinics of men's health that you can go without referral for sexual problems with urologists on duty.

Ontario Men's Health | Men's Clinic Toronto, Men's Health Clinic

A bit steep the price, but you can go through ohip as well. I should go there soon, in October if my referral for the other place I asked is still months ahead.

@pfract:

I do not have OHIP, I am in Quebec. Do these guys do the Verapamil injections? I've read that they have great success with younger patients, particularly in relieving pain (I'd rate my current pain at an 8 or 9).

To answer the other question:

I believe I do have obvious plaques or scarring. I had two <5 degree bends during erection, one beneath the base on the right hand side, and another just above the base at the left. In the case of the left scar, there is a relatively large webbed star-like white spot visible on the surface of the penis. In the past couple months what appeared to be a dimple on the lower left became visible. Generally over the past seven months I've really struggled with not madturbating, which probably caused a slow progression of the peyronies. Severe pain subsided, with week-to-week spikes, usually after masturbation. Over the course of this period, I had four sexual partners, without any significant pain after sex. It only seemed to occur after masturbation, no matter how gentle I tried to be. Erections were not terribly affected, until the other night.

Four nights ago an inexperienced sexual partner very roughly yanked my erect penis. At the time it seemed to be so brief that I wasn't worried. Over the past four days immense pain has developed, and I can see that the bottom right hand dimple has deepened. While the flaccid penis doesn't look too bad, I am incapable of gaining an erection through the pain. When I have woken up with morning wood, it is shockingly soft, at maybe 75%. A preliminary look shows that I may have lost about an inch, if not slightly more in length. The pain on the left has exploded, where the original and most noticeable bend occurred. I may also now have what looks to be a second left bend slightly higher along the shaft, and a girdle or hourglass below the tip and at the base. The pain is far worse than the first injury, to the point of being borderline incapacitating.

I am only 26. I work out. Thought myself to be in good health. Battle with depression and insomnia. I'm really not sure what to do. I feel desperate and terrified at the prospect of relative impotence and disappointment for sexual partners. Before this experience, despite having a dead-average size and girth, I was told a few times that I was a good lover. I'm devastated to lose this. I've just entered an LTR with a beautiful young woman that I will no longer be able to satisfy with a mangled and below-average penis.

It is quite frustrating to me that my urologist was not concerned, nor forthcoming or proactive in aiding my treatment. The first meeting, he chased me out of the office. I had to beg for him to put me on pentox. I'm so desperate now, I'd be willing to blow my savings getting the stem cell treatment in America or something. I have so little to material lose, and an entire sexual lifetime to be robbed of.
