Just had a visit with a specialist and he said not to do traction because you could injure yourself more, do you think this is a disclaimer they have to give in case somebody does it wrong? I'm 8 months in now and getting concerned that its gonna calcify and leave me worse off if i'm not proactive.

any advice from anyone who's been successful with traction and or VED and also any failures?  :-[

trying to stay optimistic and put my best foot forward, any advice is greatly welcomed. thank you!

Two reasons:

Disclaimer
Profitable treatment (the main reason)

He is definitely ignoring the science. His job is to get you into surgery or a series of injections, NOT to help you. This is the tragic truth of medicine. Of course, he may be right, yes you can injure yourself, but is that the final word on traction and the physical therapies? Hell no! Traction and VED are miraculous treatments, and the ONLY treatment I will continue for the rest of my life. Just check this forum to see people's experiences and the resource library for the studies.

Please find a doctor who supports traction and VED. The opinions about this seem mixed and I know for a fact that improper use can hurt you. The reason I suggest seeking a doctor who supports it is not because I dont think you could try traction or ved on your own, but rather because IF you injure yourself and go to some doctor to tell him "yeah uhhj.. I got this from a forum on the interwebb" they'll think youre a moron, but not if you say "I just followed the advice given to me by a doctor". It doesn't really matter in the end, but it sucks when docs try yo use such things against you, like "See! You got body dysmorphia cause you tried internet instead of the opinion of a professional."

Is the best way to go about that calling urology offices and just asking? any suggestions? am i at a crucial point being under 12 months? I just got a strap with suction tip device, i'm just assuming to avoid injury by not overduing it, aka. stretching too aggressively, keep it minimal? and don't do the obvious of using with erection etc.

I just got my suction tip/strap traction device in the mail. Can you share your "Dos" and "Don'ts" regarding traction? I'm assuming just a light pull/stretch is the best way to go for awhile? avoiding worsening being of the utmost importance. Any info here before I start is much much appreciated.

Honestly, I'm not doing traction. I only have experience using a VED and do it daily now since dr Kuehhas adviced me to. He's a good doc located in vienna. I live in Holland myself, but I contacted him over the phone and he adviced me o tr it. No doc in Holland has any other help and I didnt wanna try it on my own since my injury started from doing too much jelqing and pumping. With traction it's important to keep it stretched for a few hours, but without too much force and you should gt a device that fits comfortably without pinching the head of your penis. I once had a traction device as well, but t turned out to be too tight so I couldn't use it cause it would numb my glans and cut off bloodlfow. Not good.. I'm sure others can give you more info about traction.

Sorry but I think its important if understand this statement correctly, did he advise you to try it or not to try it?

VED is helpful and has has good results for you? I watched the youtube video of NeoV and he spoke highly of it but also said he suffered from injuries from it, so I was a bit confused if this is a safe treatment.

thank you for the feedback!

Hey... somebody post the link to the Medical paper from Dr. Levine and the most current approach to deal with Peyronies disease!

https://www.mypeyronies.com/dr-levine.html (not sure if this is his latest but I found this interview. Here's a segment that seems to make a lot of sense:

"Let's consider the example of braces on the teeth. These are worn 24/7 for the better part of 2 years to straighten the teeth. We know that when these devices are applied properly and the orthodontist periodically tightens them that we will have straight teeth in time. If one were to only simply grasp a tooth with their fingers and periodically twist it, it is more likely the tooth will snap off than it will actually be induced to move. Therefore, it is critical for the penis that the traction be applied for an extended period of time to induce the necessary changes which is why I am not an advocate of vacuum therapy."

TonySa

And yet, studies and anecdotal experience, seems to show some success, for some individuals, with both strategies.

@charlie: unless there are teeth growing out of one's penis, I doubt this is applicable. It's much more dense. Your body keeps getting nighttime elections to prevent fibrosis and this is similar to VED.

Paolo

Wow, Tychy welcome back!
Did you resolve your health scares?, nice to hear from you  :) :)
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

I take Lexapro now. No more worrying or panic attacks so far  :D
Still I'll phase in slowly ;)

Hey man

I've been dealing with my peyronies for over a year now, and in the more recent months (since maybe october) i've been doing traction by hand.. While your doctor didn't lie to you (any sort of manipulation of the penis, whether it be masturbating, rough sex, jelqing, VED, traction, etc) can possibly cause further damage if not done correctly. However for ME personally, light traction by hand(pulling down right where my plaque is located) has helped improve my flaccid size and my erect size. I'm still about 85% recovered, lost about 1 inch in length and half inch in girth. But I definitely believe gentle traction will help. Also I'd make sure you're on pentox at least 6 months in.

Tychy, I had panic attacks multiple times a day until I went on keto and reversed my blood sugar issue : ( sadly I can never really eat carbs like I used to. If I eat pasta now I am in a lot of trouble for the next few days and feel very close to panicking.
