Hello all I'm 29 years old and was diagnosed with acute peyronies today. I've had symptoms for a few days things just weren't feeling or looking right so I decided to get checked out. My doctor prescribed me vitamin E 1000iu once a day, cialis 1/2 a pill per day and colcrys 0.6mg. It's seems like a lot to take especially for me because I'm currently not on any meds. He also told me to continue being sexually active which surprised me a little. I'm suppose to see him again in 3 months. He really didn't seem to care I guess because their is much to treat it with. It really hasn't sunk in yet. I've been to nervous to try to get an erection yet kinda blocking myself from getting one. I'm not really sure what else to do, just hoping I caught it early enough to mitigate the damage. I would appreciate some feedback from y'all. Thanks for creating an outlet for us.

Do you have, curvature, hourglassing, shortening, etc.?  is the doc a peyronies specialist?  Did they mention pentox or xiaflex?

Your post doesn't state your current symptoms. That being said, for me pentox, ALC, CoQ10 and low dose cialis has helped to mitigate pain. I would recommend researching on this site and being proactive. Your Uro is like lots of others who just want to wait it out.

Rjohn - You have an idea of what the cause was?

Thanks for the responses it's been tough figuring this out. I believe my case has to do with slight trauma. I had what the doctor describe as a small bruise under my left testicul.  In terms of a curve it curves to the right with a downward curve which makes it unable to straighten out. I'm not getting erections without helping it along even with cialis half a pill.

Rjohn - I would bet you saw your regular urologist.  That treatment regimen is old and really considered not effective.  Colcrys has a lot of GI side effects and has not been shown to do much, same with vitamin e (which is toxic at high doses).  My regular urologist told me that there isnt an effective treatment and the condition is self-limiting so let it run its course.  I think a lot of uro's think this way, maybe they have a valid point of view, they see guys in their practice with the condition, but I wasn't willing to accept that.  You didnt say much about the state of your condition, how long you have had it, pain level, extent of curve, or ed issues.  I would recommend you do your homework to see if you want to get more aggressive in your treatment. If you do then that would mean finding a Peyronies specialist who would likely start some type of treatment, depending on where you are in the disease progression.  They would do a work up that includes plaque sizing, calcification, hemodynamics, curve assessment, etc.  There is no one way to treat, because none of the treatments work across the board, but drugs like pentox, xiflex injections, verapamil injections, co-q 10 can lead to better outcomes.  They can recommend stretching routines, medical devices such as a vacuum pump or traction device, which have shown success.   And of course surgery, which is for the more severe cases.   Hope this is helpful ... 55 - Onset May 2017.  38 degree bend up.  Failed Xiaflex treatment.  Still functional so I decided to stop treatments.  Only take 400mg Co-Q10 and occasionally use Restorex
