Glad I found this board ... going to start Xiflex next week.  I am admittedly nervous about it, probably because this started 8 months ago, and I can still get an erection and penetrate with a little guidance.  My curve is measured at 30 degrees and appears to be stable.  I am hoping I am not going to aggressively at this.  I am a pharmacist so my homework has been somewhat extensive.  I saw three urologists.  My regular urologist said there was nothing to do, just put vitamin oil on it, they tried Xiflex on a few patients and saw nothing.  My talk with him had the feel that they were detailed and trained by a drug company as a way to add revenue to the practice.  I guess to his credit if he wasn't taking Xiflex seriously,  at least he wasn't going to use it.  The second doc I saw was listed as peyronies specialist, but in the first visit, he said very little about the condition, other than I had to come back for induced erection measurements and then we would talk.

Finally I saw, and am going to use, John Mulhall, MD.  He was the the most straight forward and knowledgeable doctor of the three. He answered all mine and my wifes questions.   Fortunately for me he is local and they accept my insurance.  Thankfully Dr. Mulhall explained to my wife that there is a strong hereditary component to this, and that my father could have had it, and my kids were potentially at risk.  Prior to that discussion, she couldn't wrap her head around the fact that it just happened one day, I knew my answer that I didnt know how this happened never fully settled with her until Dr. Mulhall said it.

I had to do quite a bit of advocating with my insurance as they denied the treatment plan three times.  They couldn't read the dr's note properly.  My final conversation with the supervisor at the insurance company started with a snotty supervisor telling me I dont meet the criteria according to their outside consultant urologist.  After an hour of discussion where I had the supervisor pull up the note from the doctors office, and I pointed out the information they said was missing, the supervisor was apologizing to me.  I told him they should get the money back from the consultant because he didnt read the notes.  A day later they reversed the decision and authorized treatment.

Anyway ... I am going to report back after the injections, hopefully with successful news ...
55 - Onset May 2017.  38 degree bend up.  Failed Xiaflex treatment.  Still functional so I decided to stop treatments.  Only take 400mg Co-Q10 and occasionally use Restorex
