Hey all,

I am a 37/yo with new plaque formation on the dorsal aspect of midshaft (1 cm).  I do not have any curvature or pain at this point.  I recently saw a urologist who said it was an atypical presentation given my age and no other symptoms of peyronies.  I had an MRI this week and it showed actually NOTHING ( no mass).  I am scheduled for a biopsy in 2 weeks.  I'm a little freaked out and I'm wondering how many of you started out the disease with only plaque formation.

Hey, I don't knoe your specific case, but do know they can't aways detect everything and I know that for a fact. I've had three urologist look at my penis over the years and it actually only has gotten worse and worse, but still.. first time one uro said minimal damage/scar tissue but adviced me to seek a better peyronies specialist because he didnt have much experience with peyronies himself. Second felt the scar tissue by hand and said it's scsr tissue, but not peyronies (still dont really get what that even means), third one said nothing is wrong at all ( even thougg my dick was already shrunk and misshapen at that time) and the last one I saw diagnosed me with nothing really cause he didnt want to give me the "confirmation" that something is wrong causw it wouldnt help me mentally, but still admitted that he saw what I meant and said it's a fixeable venous leak caused by pelvic floor tension.. I mean... what the hell does all that mean? Nobody seems to really know for sure and all I know is that I lost size, shape, sensitivity and even the natural skin colour my dick had. I did however develop all of this after jelqing and pumpig, so my case might be different from "genetic" peyronies.
Age: 25
Date of onset: 17
Symptoms: sharp pains, numbness, change in shape/size, hourglassing and discolaration from jelqing/VED usage as a teen. Diagnosed with a venous leak and possible scarring.
Treatments tried: cialis, pentox and VED didnt help

Options123,

I have never heard of someone having a biopsy to diagnose Peyronies. You should ask the reason for the biopsy and what are they looking for. Peyronies is generally diagnosed by:

1. Palpation of plaque or firm tissue (feeling it)
2. MRI (Checking for plaque via MRI scan)
3. New or change in curvature. Peyronies curves are acute in nature which is a distinguishing factor versus a congenital curve.

The biopsy is to rule out rare things such as cancer.   It's just weird the mri didn't see anything at all.  The urologist reviewed it again today with the radiologist.
