I need to find a good surgeon for implant in st louis mo. Can anyone help me out? I think someone specializing in reconstructive surgery would be best? I have searched but i am unsure how to tell if a dr is reputable or not..

Ralph Torrence @ Wash U is highly recommended.Dr Torrence took place of Stephen Brandis and I have talked with his office staff when he came on board, they spoke very highly of him.
Also
Etai Goldenberg with Urology Consultants- I have not talked with his office but know that we have members that have seen him and liked him , found his office staff very helpful.

I recommend being willing to travel. Here's how I found the process worked at the top three surgeons I met with:

- First, get in line. There are hundreds of men already ahead of you. So make that appointment.
- Second, once your appointment is set, generally expect:
     > The surgeon will see you on a Thursday (for example), and meet you, do a full inspection and give you his opinion. There's plenty of time for conversation and all the questions you want.
     > If you decide to proceed (you like the surgeon and mutually agree to a plan) surgery is usually the next day! So, come prepared.
     > Prepared means: Have some bagged frozen peas on dry ice in a small cooler, with you at a hotel. Either bring someone with you who can drive you from the surgery back to the hotel, or be prepared to get a cab. Get a hotel near the surgeon's practice -- and spend the night out of an abundance of caution. I didn't have any issues, and when I woke up the next morning my wife and I ate breakfast then hit the road for home. The surgeon provides a prescription for painkillers, so get that filled. The only probable risk that first night is an erection. Once you're under the anesthesia, they will shoot your dick full of jet fuel to induce an erection. Generally speaking this wears off. But, there's an occasional guy whose body doesn't process the drug as fast as most, and that whopper of an erection can return in the night -- thus being close to whoever is on call from the surgeon's office is a nice plan of action. They will give you a shot to reverse the erection should that happen. I didn't want to go home that first night (hours away from the surgeon) because I didn't want to risk showing up at my local roach hospital at 1am, with a raging boner, trying to explain the situation to the intake orderly, nor did the thought of persuading some arrogant ER doctor to listen to the words coming out of my lips seem very appealing. I worked my plan and life was great.

For the last year, I've been promoting these three male sexual health specialists:

Dr Andrew Kramer is at the University of Baltimore, Maryland. He is a male sexual health specialist, he does specialize in Peyronies. And, implants are a major part of his practice. I've watched nearly all of his videos. He and his office are easy to communicate with. Check out his YouTube channel:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdkQplDRDJF-vudzD1g9JGQ/videos

Dr Joel Gelman, Center for Reconstructive Penile Surgery
Orange, California

Dr Thomas Walsh, University of Washington Men's Health Center
Seattle, Washington

For me, the primary question was finding a surgeon my insurance would cover. Who knew, but my plan ended up providing coverage for two of the three! Lucky me to have a choice.

Interesting i set up an appointment with ralph torrence. Does anyone else have any experience with him. Im not sold on him being a peyronies specialist like brandes. Its too bad brandes left he seemed like a true peyronies specialist.

Sir, if you are going the implant route you do not need a “Peyronie’s specialist” you need an implant specialist. Find a high volume implant surgeon, the best your insurance will pay for or pay out of pocket for the best.

Thoroughly review franktalk.com implant forum. Sign up search for posts from men in your area, post your questions there, people here are not experienced. Frank talk is the largest community of implanted men and way better.

High volume implant surgeons will model your Peyronie’s deformation during surgery to improve curvature and through implant cycling the curve will reduce over time.

Search the forum for Torrence, see what the results have been. Many men fly around the country to the best surgeons they cAn afford. Going local has not helped many men.

Thanks for the reply i see your point about the implant specialist. I will do some research but in the meantime has anyone heard anything about  Dr. Clay McDonough with st louis University. He is a reconstructive specialist one of the few in the st louis region according to the website. Does anyone know if hes any good?

I’ve said this several times, but it’s worth repeating here.

You only have one dick. Be very careful who you let near it with a scalpel!....

Again, search frank talk. I have seen his name there before. An experienced surgeon will give you everything the implant has to offer. Any loses will be due to the Peyronie’s not the implant.

I’ve read three months of traction before surgery helps gain lost length and girth.

Well, go hard on the traction and VED for 6 months then get implanted? I think one of the best things for Peyronie’s guys getting implanted is that they no longer worry about unjury. I remember back when I never thought injury was possible during sex, now I’m constantly worried I’ll injure my penis more and worsen my Peyronie’s. The implant re-establishes the integrity of your penis. If only it wasn’t irreversible, expensive, and impossible to “try out”

You think i can do it that way even if my penis has been shortened and bended by penile fracture?
