Hey everybody,

I am 26 years old. Obviously, if I am at this site, I am experiencing the same struggles you all are. I have been following this forum for about 9 months now. It's hard to communicate about this disease to anybody out there in our lives, so I suppose I am seeking solitude here.

I developed this disease in an awkward situation. 2 years ago I was working in the oil fields in Colorado.. and during work, a large pressure surge caused a pipe to break. The pipe managed to find its way to my penis, and some minor trauma occurred. No pain or bruising- nothing out of the ordinary. Fielding the baseball caused more damage back in high school. After about 6 months or so, plaque started to develop. I had no dimple issues, curvature, or loss of blood flow. Sexual interactions were normal. At that time, the plaque experienced no further growth. To this day, the plaque has showed no further growth. However, the negative impacts of the disease worsened.

I have around 15 degrees of bend to the left with an hour glass on as well on the left side. I have lost length- which is not the main issue. The bend is also not a major issue, sexually. The issue is with the hour glassing- and my loss of ability to have a strong erection. I went to a doctor in Jacksonville, and he basically told me tough luck. Following this forum gave me more information than offered. I pursued the idea of the Xiaflex injections- and he turned them down. He told me that my bend is so insignificant, that the bend itself is normal. Instead, he urged me to pursue a VED pump; that it would allow blood flow to pass the plaque build up and start to stretch the area out: allowing more permanent blood flow and decreasing the hour glass.

My questions are: has anybody had success with the VED in this regard? Would cialis help this problem?

I am seeking help from a North America leader with Peyronies Disease at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl in December. I hope he has more answers and some form of solution for me. I have relationships I would love to pursue, but the fear of my sexual performance is holding me back. I am sure I am not alone with this one..

Hi Jkgeorgia,

Welcome to the forum. This crap sucks and no one is of much help. After seeing 4 urologists, notably Dr Lue and Gelbard I can tell you my experience.

With a less than 30 degree curve you will likely not be eligible for xiaflex. 15 is different from what you had before and I think it's crazy that the medical industry doesn't value getting you back to your original state but the medical industry seems to think 15 degrees is totally acceptable. Which, honestly, it is and it seems it might be something you have to accept. However, a traction device is thought to improve curvature, you might try that because doctors won't do anything for you.

As far as lost length, doctors don't give a F~@<, traction is your only option as far as regaining. Hour glassing sucks, I have it too, the only thing that will help that is a VED. Dr. Gelbard and many others have mentions that the VED used daily for an extended period of time, at least three months, would improve hour glassing and indents. Some people have also claimed that VED helps with length/curvature/erection quality too.

Now for the sure bet: daily cialis! Get that thing as hard as you can because having sex with a partial erection will make you more susceptible to reinjuring your penis and making things worse! You will want to go to safe generic pharmacy dot com and order tadalafil. I get 10 mg pills and I bought a ton of them. Depending on your erection quality you can split the pills or take 10 mg. Before seeing my girlfriend for the weekend I take 20 mg the same day and then 10 mg every day after. I guarantee that the cialis will make you confident in your erection quality. I suggest purchasing like this because cialis in the US is expensive and tadalafil from india is way cheaper and works!

I do recommend you pursue a specialist, you have to do it, it's just protocol for us. However, I don't think you should get your hopes up. Hopefully they can do an ultrasound of the plaque and an ultrasound for blood flow, these are the only things he can do for you and it will objectively characterize your injury so that you understand it better. However, treatments for your problem are limited. You should be taking pentox though.

To echo the recommendations of this site:

Pentox 400 mg x 3 daily
Cialis/tadalafil 5 mg daily (more as needed)
CoQ10 300 mg daily
Traction 4+ hours daily
VED 15 or so minutes 1-2 times daily

Do that for 4-6 months and you will have done essentially the only thing you can do for yourself. Good luck!

In the VED section you will see a protocol that we recommend that has been developed by senior members on the forum.
