Hi all,

First time posting here, hello to all. I have had Peyronie's since 2013. Happened pretty quickly. I had some trauma to the groin area when I was 20 (I'm 49 now), and found out that my father had Peyronies Disease for the last 10-15 years before he passed. I had 12 Verapamil shots, and the condition appears to have stabilized. It is still difficult to deal with, as my urologist described it as pretty serious.

I am seeking support from this forum, in the form of advice or thoughts on contining to recover physically, emotionally, and as far as improving my relationship. I have been married for over 10 years, and my wife says the condition is not a big deal. Nevertheless, it does complicate matters, and is distressing to me.

Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts.

Hi John!
You came to the right place to seek information.  :) A lot of members around here have been through the same issue you're now in, so you'll be able to get a lot of help around here.
If you posted a little bit more detailedly how is your penis right now it would make it much more easier to the posters around here to provide you with info:
-Is it painful when you get an erection? Or when you're not erect? Is it painful at all?
-How many degrees would you say your curve has? Is it very curved or just mildly curved? If you're wife says it's fine I would be less worried about it  ;)
-Do you feel a plaque or bump somewhere in your penis?
I'm 23 years old and only 4 months into this disease, but I already know some things of how to battle the curve. I don't know if you are aware that with oral meds like Pentox, Cialis, L-Arginine, and with more physical treatments like Traction or VED you can actually reduce the curvature and even you might eliminate some hardened tissue. This can be done while the plaque is still not calcified. Because you say that you had this disease for almost 4 years, your plaque might be already calcified, although you should consult an specialist on Peyronie's to clarify that because I personally don't know much about the calcification process, some other members might help you more with this. If it's already calcified, you might consider surgery to correct the curvature, although I would not take that road if I were you. You are VERY lucky to have a supportive wife who doesn't mind about this, because it means that you shouldn't have any problem with your sex life. I know it's hard for us, the guys who didn't have a curved penis, to suddenly have a curve down there, but as I try to explain to some of the guys around here, I have friends who were born with curved penis and this has NEVER been a problem for them to get girlfriends or having a rich sex life. So, I encourage you to search for information to see what are your possibilities to reduce your curvature, if there are any, but if your wife doesn't mind about it and it doesn't interfere with your sex life, I wouldn't obsess or be really worried about it. Seeking psychological help (psychologist or psychiatrist) was very important for me during the first weeks, because sometimes it's difficult to cope with sudden changes in your body that you don't like, so I also encourage you to do that  ;)
Good look and keep us informed!
