is numbness due to nerves being compressed by plaque or is it from nerve damage?

It took me two years before my "injury induced" numbness and swelling went away. Now I am regaining a lot of feeling in my penis on the ketogenic diet. I would NOT be surprised if not a single damn urologist knows the answer to your main question.

Small nerve fibers and nerves can grow back if you lower your blood sugar dramatically. You can literally feel them grow back. My hands, which used to be numb, and now burning on the small fibers and are red and sensitive to the point of pain. A 1988 study showed that a guy with this "syndrome," called "treatment induced neuropathic pain" had a large increase in nerve regeneration where he felt the pain. My father's penis is numb too, and the bottom of his feet. My feet, hands, and penis had been numb but are now regaining their feeling. The beauty of this is that, as nerves improve, blood vessels do. Improved nerves = improved blood flow = less fibrosis.

Of course, in some instance I am sure scar tissue could be hitting the nerve, so sure, an ultrasound would be worth while. If you are upset, like I was, go keto for several months and tell me what happens.

Exam: kh us dplx penile arterial flow

Clinical indication: n48.9 (disorder of penis, unspecified)

Technique: color, grayscale and doppler sonography of the penis was performed during tumescence.
