Hey guys I am also new to this forum. I am glad I joined this, its good to have a place to express myself and seek advice from others who have had the same Peyronies problem that I have. Let me explain my Pyronies history and symptoms and then I would like to ask a few questions. I experienced some hardness/rigidity in my penis while I was holding it during urinating. This was around mid April 2017. For a couple of weeks I didn't think much of it and thought may be it is something temporary. But after 2-3 weeks I started researching on the internet and I "self diagnosed" myself with Peyronies. At that time other than the hard lump that I was feeling on top of my shaft during urinating I didn't have any other symptoms. The lump was kind of round in shape and flat, must be about a size of a penny. Also it was completely hard, almost like a bone. I went to a Urologist and he examined it and said he also felt it was Peyronies. He said that I don't need to do anything as it is harmless and the worst that could happen is I may see a slight bent. He said the bend in my case would be upward and that could actually be a good thing because women actually like that. He said I could take vitamin E pills. I came home a little stressed and continued to do more research on the internet. That is when I started seeing pictures with significant curvature, it was a little shocking to see all that because I did not know that something like this even existed. I started feeling some pain during erection. After about 2 weeks, around mid May I decided to get a second opinion and went to another Urologist. I still didn't have any curvature. He also examined and prescribed Pnetoxyfylline. He said I was lucky to not have curvature. I started taking the medication, 3 times a day and that significantly helped with the pain, it was completely gone. I waited for about a month and I started seeing a slight upward curvature. The plaque was still the same size and same hardness. I also started to see a little indentation right around where the plaque was when I was erect. I went to a Peyronies specialist. He also examined me and did an X-ray where he said that my plaque had partially calcified. He said that since my plaque had already calcified and I didn't have pain, it seemed like I was in the chronic phase and he didn't think it was going to get any worse. This was around end of June 2017. At that time my curvature must be about 5-10 degrees at the most. My wife said she didn't even notice it. Now we are in Early August, the plaque size is still the same and I feel that the curvature has slightly increased. I would say it must be about 20-30 degrees right now. I also see the indentation and slight decrease in girth around the area of indentation. And because of the indentation and the curvature, I feel the overall length has also decreased. Still I am able to have normal sexual function, I try to be a bit careful though.

My concern is, is the curve and indentation going to get worse even thought the plaque is not changing? Since I first felt the plaque, it has been about 4 months at the most. On my forums I am hearing that this problem can progress for almost 18 months. That really freaks me out. I am very stressed, I would really appreciate if someone could tell me what they think about my future progression of this problem. Thanks to anyone who replies and once again, I am happy to be a part of this community.

Hi,

I surprised to hear that your plaque has already calcified, considering you noticed it recently. Since your curve is still progressing it seems premature to say you're in the chronic phase, but I am not the expert. If I were you, I would assume you're not in the chronic phase yet and continue to seek treatment and second or third opinions.

The good news is you got on Pentox pretty quickly, which is not a miracle cure but considered the best treatment. A lot of guys struggle to get a prescription. As it's already helping your pain it's clearly working for you and it may take a while to see results with Pentox in terms of curvature improvement, so stick with it. If you are still in the acute phase, that's when Pentox will be most effective.

There are other oral treatments you can try if you're interested. The most popular ones are:

-   Acetyl-L-Carnitine 1.5-3 grams a day (in 2-3 doses)
-   CoQ10 200-300 mg (in 2-3 doses)
-   L-Arginine 1.5-3 grams a day (in 2-3 doses)
-   Low dose Cialis 2.5-5 mg (some guys take a lot more but not needed if you're not struggling with ED)
-   There are also Traction and VED

I recommend reading this thread: Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums and this one links to a recent study that summarizes the scientific backing for some of the above treatments: oxidative stress_Peyronies Disease_Antioxidant Treatment - Peyronies Society Forums .

Also, a healthy diet is advised, you may want to look into anti-inflammation diet.

Hey Toronto34, thanks a lot for responding. I have been observing the plaque for last 3 months and thankfully there doesn't seem to be much change. But as you said it's too early. Yeah Pentox is awesome with the pain, my pain is completely gone and I don't feel any pain when I get an erection or when I have an intercourse. Yeah it is weird that the calcification happened so fast. The doctor did an X-ray and it showed one white spots in that area so he said it's partially calcified. It does feel pretty hard when I feel it. How does your plaque feel? Is it soft and lumpy? I have seen my curve change in last 2-3 months, I really hope and pray that it doesn't get worse. Right now I think it's in the 15-20 degree range. Would you recommend the vacuum device? How long have you had it? What has your progression been like? How are you doing?

Hi Akrs,

I have a long story, as we all do, but my curve is still comparatively mild and sounds similar to yours (around 15-20 degrees upwards when fully erect). It has been this way since I had my first symptoms in late February. I actually do not have a plaque on the surface that I can feel. My GP originally diagnosed me but, as a result of this lack of feelable plaque, a Urologist later said that I was fine and did not have Peyronies. It's all very confusing and frustrating. I definitely have something going on down there but without getting too much into it, it might be more related to Chronic Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. I am still taking CoQ10 and Acetyl-L-Carnitine for Peyronies, but I've gone off Pentox and Cialis, after some unpleasant side-effects.

Of course, if you have calcified plaque visible on the surface and confirmed with an ultrasound you should be confident with that diagnosis. I would continue with the Pentox and, maybe gradually, add other supplements. Don't start a bunch of things all at once because then you might not know what's helping or what is giving you unpleasant side effects should they occur. Most of the standard meds and supplements recommended on the forum are pretty mild in terms of side effects, but we all tolerate them differently. Cialis gave me unbearable neck pain, for example.

I did try VED for a few weeks and I did not like it. I thought I was careful but may have "overpumped," so it caused me discomfort after. I gave it up after I got these strange, mushy erections for a few days. Apparently if you are too strenuous with VED it can cause lymphatic fluid to leak into the penis and that mushiness is the result. It resolved on its own in less than a week but it was enough for me to stop with the VED. I am telling you that to warn you that VED must be done very carefully, even guys who swear by will tell you this. Of course, lots of guys report great improvements with it though and it can be done in as little as 10 minutes a day, as oppose to traction which requires 4-8 hours a day.

I bought one of the Soma Therapy 3 ring devices from Augusta Medical. It was expensive but seems to be of good quality. I think we have some deal with them where we get a 10% discount or something. Check out the VED subforum for more info.

Hey there it's good that you don't have a plaque. It is quite frustrating to feel that plaque every time I hold my penis to pee. It feels hard which is weird coz my flaccid penis used to be completely soft. It feels bad to know that I may never get that feeling again. Your curvature doesn't seem bad at all, and looks like it has stabilized. I hope it doesn't turn out to be Peyronies for you :) good luck with that. As for the vacuum device, did a doctor have to prescribe that for you? Where did you order it? I know you said Augusta Medical but is it a website or an actual store? I am taking Pentox, ACetyl and L-Arganine. I was taking vitamin e pills and gotu kola pills as well but stopped those. It was just too many pills, I don't really feel any side effects so that is good.

Viagra/cialis helps with healing, too. It is not only for ED. Take it before bed.
Snake Diet + 5-day fasts + pentox + NeoV's stretching routine + Mito Red Light. Curvature 99% gone.

I also used Todd Capistrant's "Fascial Distortion Model" to help my curvature. Start slowly.
