Straightenedboy

Hi everybody, I'm a 22 year old guy suffering from congenital curvature. My curvature is 80 degrees and I've already been checked by a surgeon here in Italy who does the STAGE through the International Andrology's clinic (the one founded by Kuehhas). The surgery would be expensive in Italy as well (about €8.000) since the insurance does not cover the costs of a private clinic. Moreover that doctor doesn't do the stage surgery in public hospitals so there is no way to have it for free or paying less. Do any of you know if there is any opportunities do have it at least partially covered by an insurance in other countries? If there is any doctors doing this technique in public hospital or if the doctors who work in the International Andrology Clinic do surgery out of the private clinic? Thanks in advance.

Why do you say that you are a 22 year old boy?

You're a little peevish right out of the gate. Glad you at least upgraded your post to "guy." Don't hide behind an excuse, dude.

You've provided only a little info to work with, there are probably more internationally versed members here than myself.

You were wondering if dick surgery is covered in other countries. In the U.S., yes it is with a number of insurers. The equal problem is finding a dick doctor who accepts the insurance one has -- not all doctors are signed up with every insurance company. Something about bureaucracy I think.

Cost wise, my insurance deductible combined with the down payment to hold my slot with the dick doctor cost me $1,600. Plus hotel, travel, meals for two days (as the doctor I selected ended up being in Seattle, Wa which is not where I live). That was June 2016.

I saw the total bill for the surgery was 9,300.

Not bad for my out of pocket.

But it gets better. At the one year mark the hospital audited my account and reconciling insurance payments, and refunded me $800 from my original payment. So my final doctor expense only ended up being $800 dollars. Sahweeet. Just got the check two days ago.

Do you have insurance? Is it provided by a nationalized health system? Or, by a company that lets you travel abroad?

@JohnW: give him some slack, he must be under a lot of distress and I am sure we can all understand. Also, he clearly is not a native English speaker, and if you want to understand where he's coming from, it suffices to know that in Italian you can be a 90 year old "boy". A boy/girl is simply someone roughly in the same age bracket as the speaker is.

At the men's clinic I eventually selected, there were three specialists. They appeared to be versed in various approaches, but I gave the direction not to even waste my time with the other methods, I was interested only in Nesbit. I had already done the research so there wasn't really even that much to talk about.

Curvedboy;

The Stage technique is used by both Dr Kuehhas in London or Vienna. And Dr Paul Egydio in Sao Paolo Brazil.

As far as I know this is not available outside of a private hospital.

Fossi in te mi preoccuperei della mano del chirurgo piuttosto che della tecnica

(I would worry about doctor skills rather than the technique used)
31 yrs old
Severe congenital curvature. 3 straightening surgeries
Big lump/stitch w/ left deviation after 2012 surgery
Severe ED after last one in 2014. Still crooked
Slightly improved w/ shockwave therapy
Looks like only one side of my penis works

Hey curved boy.
Jack is right. The surgeon and his skill is very important. Dr kuehhas has helped lot of patients including me. Stage is great but any technique can fail if inexperienced surgeon perform it.
I can recommend stage and dr kuehhas. Good luck with insurance.

Jack and Dan are right, above everything you should consider the experience of the surgeon. If he didn't do at least 100 curvature surgeries, turn him down.

In response to the original question:
General Hospital of Vienna (AKH) might be worth a try since studies on STAGE were conducted there and they claim to have an innovative technique on the internet (MUW).

Surgeon skill might be more important than technique though.
