Feel better!! Try to move around as much as you can. Motion is life.
Snake Diet + 5-day fasts + pentox + NeoV's stretching routine + Mito Red Light. Curvature 99% gone.

I also used Todd Capistrant's "Fascial Distortion Model" to help my curvature. Start slowly.

Old Man

Hey all:

My recovery is going good so far. However, my intake of food has been drastically reduced. My hernia had caused my stomach to be drawn up above the hiatus diaphragm about 1/3 of its size. My esophagus was also herniated just above the stomach. The surgeon used that 1/3 of my stomach to make a patch to cover the other hernia therefore reducing my stomach size.

OK, surgery by microscopy procedure was utilized which only required 4 small puncture holes in the abdominal area. These have healed properly with no complications.

My diet for the past four weeks have ranged from a whole lot of only clear liquids for 5 days. the second 5 days diet was only very pasty puddings and no meats. Still lots of liqids. the third 5 days moved to taco sized meat only with still no bread foods.

Finally, now after 4 weeks, almost 5, I have started on regular diet foods, but still no heavy meats like steak! :o :o ::)

Hopefully, after several more weeks of this much altered diet for me, I will be back to somewhat normal again.

During my battle with these hernias left me 35 lbs. lighter and with about 4 inches less waist size! 8) 8)

Thanks to all who communicated with this Old Man during this ordeal. September 15 this year my 88th birthday rolls around!! 8) 8)

Cheering you on! You'll be back to steak in no time! How many surgeries does this make for you in the first 88 years of your life?!

Members might not believe what I am about to reply to your question. The hiatal hernia surgery was number 24 in the list of surgeries all the way from a tonsil op at age 15 to this surgery. :( :(

Yes, I am a tough old coot, a WW2 Navy veteran and have seen many ups and downs physically during my soon to be 88 years.

Thanks to all who have sent PMs, post and emails. Regards, Old Man

Hey oldman! so glad you are still here with us! you have to be, the oldest person i know, still participating on the internet! so cool. May you stay with us for long years, to give me all the needed patience to deal with this. lol

Thanks for your concern. Yes, recovery is slow. Having lost 1/3 of my stomach to the surgery it is taking some getting used to the lessor food processor!! ::)

Anyway, I have begun to monitor the forum somewhat again. Mainly doing most of it by PM for special help requests.

Old Man.........Wishing you Well.  I know what you've been going through.  I've had one of those for many years, and it has made me very sick at times.  I don't want to be Cut On anymore after having a Kidney removed due to cancer.  Good Luck with your Health.  dplookin

Old Man

dplookin:

Thanks for your kind words. Yeah, I don't want to have any more ''cutting'' done on this old frame either.

I need a few more repairs done, but they will just have to wait. No more unless it is life or death!!!

Regards, Old Man

Take care of yourself.  Your input here is invaluable.  I'm a ways behind you years wise, having just made 55 recently.  At least now I can eat off of the 55+ menu honestly.

Old Man

kuaka:

Guess that I look young for my 88 years old. I still get questions about my age when I ask about the over 55 purchase check. ;D 8) Must be my military style hair cut!!

I don't get carded anymore (haven't since I can recall), but my daughter's friends have a hard time believing my wife and I are her parents.  They ask my wife if she had our daughter when she was 12 (she was 22 when she had her).  I looked to be in my 30's from about 22 up through my 40's...now I am actually aging, but still look a few years younger than I actually am.  I think the issue is that most people's diets and habits are aging them more quickly than they ought to.  Statistically, those of us who try to take care of ourselves will look quite a bit younger than average.

Gutted

Wishing you all the best for a perfect recovery OM !

Steveo

Best wishes and I hope you have a very happy birthday on Friday.  Thanks for all your help here, I know that someday science and medicine will catch up to your knowledge about this affliction :)

Stevo:

Yes, I had good training in prostate cancer as a counselor with the American Cancer Society. Along with that my uro ''used'' me to help counsel with some of her patients that had Peyronies Disease, ED and other men's health problems.

About 3 years ago, she told me one day that I needed to step down from my busy schedule with her and devote my time to the Peyronies Disease forum, so here I am~~~retired.

"retired".  What a nice concept.  I was semi-retired until my child's health forced me back into the rat race.

Old Man

kuaka:

Yeah, I retired from all public, civil service and  with Military Reserve service 32 years ago. :) :) Does not seem like too long a journey since. Have kept occupied, did my workouts at the Y and received more years on the old worn out frame.

Thanks for thinking about me.

Your advice here is invaluable.  In far more than just VED techniques.  I hope to see your posts here for a few more years.

Old Man

I will try to stay with the forum as long as I can use my hands. My DC problem in the right hand has my fingers drawn into about a limit of 45 degrees open. Soon looks like it will be too drawn tight to use a keyboard.

Happy Birthday Old man!!

Don't forget that today is your eighty-eighth round the sun!!

are not you dizzy?

kuaka

Have you investigated the injectable bromalaine for DC?

Old Man

kuaka:

No, my ortho doc and I think that at my age, that I should down on ''cutting'' surgeries as well as trying anything new.

Will ask him again about the subject though. Thanks for the heads up/tip

Old Man,

My mother has DC and we have discussed Xiaflex for the DC since it has been shown to be effective. Is this an option for you?

Old Man

QA:

I have no idea. Me and the wife have been through so many ''cutting'' surgeries" (my last one was number 24).  Xiaflex may or may not fit into our insurance plan. Mine is with the government job that I retired from in 1985. Things have changed since then.

My ortho says he can do it and would apply for coverage if we want to do it. May look into it if this mess gets worse.

Old Man,

My URO at Walter Reed said his colleagues in Ortho are doing at Walter Reed are doing it for DC.

Old Man

QA:

We will consider doing the Xiaflex after consulting my ortho doc next year since the left hand surgery did not work and last, have an apt. then.
