Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site as was looking for people that have been through the same as me so I know what route to choose. I developed peyronie's around March time of this year. After being sent to a specialist by my gp, he said to wait 3 months and return for surgery if it hasn't improved. After reading about the shortening, ED and sensation loss of that route, I'm exploring other avenues. I have so far tried vitamin E, a bizarre tactic I discovered online of vibrating the plaque away with a sonic toothbrush, and I'm currently two weeks into using Castor oil. Every now and then I think its improving but others I think not. As it hasn't really changed the last few months and I can no longer feel lumps, I'm assuming the condition is rather stable? I'm considering buying a VED and asking my doctor how to use it safely and getting some pentoxifylline.  Is this a good idea? Should I continue with the castor oil route? Only been on it for 2 weeks. Been told it can take upto 12 but will see an improvement after 3. How true is this? I'm 28 years old and have recently split up with my GF of 3 years. My curvatation is at around 30 degrees I'd say. I had sex with my ex but it wasn't the most comfortable and my enjoyment was limited as it was at the back of my mind about causing further damage. I go on a stag do to Magaluf and a lads holiday to ibiza in September and am desperate for it to be sorted by then. Can anyone please help?

Surgery after 3 months seems very premature, especially if the curvature is not too bad, and the whole vibrating plaques with a sonic toothbrush scares me. I know some guys report success with their sonic toothbrushes but it sounds like playing with fire to me. Castor oil is probably harmless but I can't imagine it's helping much. I'd read this thread to get a overview of the disease and the best current treatments:

VED is highly recommended by some and Pentox is considered the best oral med, but apparently difficult to get in the UK.

It's hard to say when Peyronies stabilizes, but it usually takes longer than 3 months. The acute phase, where new symptoms can arise, is generally considered to be 6-18 months. After that you will usually know what you will be dealing with.

Best of luck!

He said the usual is 6 months but because I'm young and fit it should be around 3. Tbh, all the sonic toothbrush did was make the arm I used to hold it with have the shakes for a few hours. Maybe it's because the lumps aren't really there anymore and it's more of an indentation? It's early days with the castor oil but I think you're right. Hmm so it's a bit naive of me thinking it'll be okay by my holiday in September then? When I first went to see the specialist I had a gf so asked for viagra. Haven't taken it yet in fear it would make my condition worse. Would you recommend still attempting sex and masturbation to get the blood regularly flowing round the area or is too high of a risk? I think it occurred during sex in February but I could have also of done it injurying my groin in the gym, if that's possible?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions but this is still new to me really. I'm a sexual person that wants to go out and meet women now I'm single but the condition is on my mind from morning till bed every day.

Yeah, we all have a lot of questions in the beginning. I am only 4 months in so I am no expert by any stretch but I've read a lot on here.

There's an ongoing discussion on whether sex/masturbation are good or not. Erections definitely are as they bring blood to the penis. That's just healthy with or without Peyronies. Most oral treatments like Pentox, cialis, L-arginine etc. help/increase blood flow in some way. So does VED for that matter. Viagra does that too and is part of the popular PAV cocktail prescribed by some Peyronies experts. Most now use cialis over viagra but viagra is considered safe for Peyronies.

In terms of sex or masturbation, you have to find a balance that works for you. I try once every week or so , but went a whole month without doing it in the beginning (had wet dreams for the first time in years). Not sure if it helped but it didn't hurt. Whatever you do, be GENTLE. No rough stuff and definitely not when you're only half erect.

As for your trip in September, that's up to you. If you're going purely to meet chicks (Birds, as you might say in England) and get laid then you'll have to see how you feel about sex at that point. If sex secondary for you, then you should go no matter what. Have fun, live your life. Of course you'll probably want to moderate your drinking and cut out smoking. Drugs like ecstasy are not good either. Some people reported their first symptoms after doing ex.

Hope that helps.

I haven't even attempted sex or to even try and pull since I split with the gf a month ago. I masterbate about once a day. I'll push on with my plan of VED and Pentoxifylline then and perhaps get some viagra too. I'll be going on holiday either way but as a young man and it being the first time I've been single in years. I'd definitely like to try and pull when I'm over there. Hopefully I'll get lucky and it'll be cleared by them.

Thanks for all your advice.

I would advise against ejaculating daily. Imho there is nothing wrong with getting and holding an erection daily. But ejaculating once or twice a week was better for me. The actual process of ejaculation is straining the tissue. Do set a hard limit on erection time, though. You don't want edging for half an hour or longer.

Tommy07

I'll give it a try but my erections don't tend to go until I ejaculate. I'm going to book in the Doctor to get some pentox next week. One thing I was wondering, my penis is now also curved when flaccid, where as before it was just when erect. What does this mean? Are there any tell tale signs I should look out for that may say things are turning and on the mend?

Tychy

Consider that a blessing. My erection is dropping as soon as stimulation stops since I was around 17-19 (!).

The curvature while flaccid also happened to me. It actually looks a bit more crooked than erect. I suppose it is just more noticeable when there isn't at least medium blood pressure. The only thing you can look out for is ED and increase in curvature. Pain may wax and wane, but there is definitely an end to it. It just takes a lot of time.

Thanks for the information. I've shared my situation with a few close friends seeing as I don't have a partner to do it with. We've all been making a joke out of it which I find easier when it comes to dealing with it all. However I can't deny that I feel pretty down about it when alone. There doesn't seem to be a light at the minute and the fact that I really want it to be sorted by my holidays in September is putting more stress on me. I take it from how you speak that you are in the clear now?

Tychy

Pain wise, it's okay now. There is some stinging which catches me off-guard and is triggering things like "not again this...", but this is mostly my character. Active it was a 7/10 at tops. Now it's 1/10 after erections. I can't have sex with the unreliable erections, as I fear it will get worse and hurt. But there is actually more to relationships than PIV sex and, really, if the partner does not understand, it's not my problem. No one would expect you to start jumping with a broken ankle.
Curvature seems to have stabilized.

I have some discomfort in my urethra somehow, but that seems to be a pelvic floor problem. It never hurts pushing on the pain site, so it's most likely referred. I've had hemorrhoid pain and severe after-ejaculatory pain in my youth. This was way worse psychologically and physically. Like I once said: the needle to the dick to provoke an erection for examination puts things again in perspective, regarding pain. Most of the suffering is because you are psychologically focused on that area and sensitive.

Notice that I have had a traumatic event causing this and this seems to be different than the overnight Peyronie's without a distinct cause experienced by others.

Motivation and will to fight is key. Irony and joking is, too. It's a marathon.

Tommy07

I've had psychological problems with sex since about 23. But this has upped it a lot. On the upside, if I ever get through this. I think my confidence will sky rocket again. After all, if you can get through having a bent, unreliable dick. You can pretty much get out of anything right? When did you first develop the condition and how long before yours became as normal as possible again? I read a lot about loss of length. I can't decide if mine has shrunk or not? This is the worst factor for me as that's what my psychological problem stems from. I always thought my penis was average in my teens and early twenties as it was around 6". However, a few comments off one night stands lowered my confidence and gave me a complex. I'm worried that if my penis does ever straighten. It'll be smaller and then I'll worry even more.

Well the indentation got better the first month I was using VED. Curvature is still there, but I recently started traction and count on that to improve. March last year it started with an indentation after injury in January. Active phase seems to have stopped around one or two months ago. No loss of length, only curvature right and upward. Thickness has actually improved from before because of VED.

No painful erections / ejaculations were actually the most impressive improvement up til now. I'm glad this milestone has been reached. Hopefully next year I will have another thing to celebrate about :)
There is always room for setbacks and they will happen. That's where will to fight plays a major role.

Tommy07

Mine also curves up and too the right. I'm flickering in my head as to whether the castor oil is actually doing anything tbh. Alot has happened since my last post. Met up with my recent ex and we've had sex a few times. Only time will tell if it has done any damage. One thing I am waiting for a hospital referral though..about 3 months before my peyronie's I found a lump on my right testical. The doctor said I had a varicus veign on it and sent a request for a scan at the hospital. Has anyone ever heard of this, along with working out regularly. Possibly causing Peyronie's disease? I get an ache in my testical everyday at work too and a shooting pain up my inner groin?

Great to hear about your improvements. Well done. Hope I get there some day ☺️

Hi Tommy07. you could have a varicocele, varicocele's are very common, and they are not dangerous.

Google it to see if it fits your symptom/s  :-\
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Tommy07

I've had a look. Interesting. Do you know if there is a link between it and peyronie's? Could this be a possible cause of my peyronie's?

Paolo

Tommy07, It is possible, but I doubt it.  :-\
Even now that I am stable sometimes I can feel slight torsion in my scrotum and the veins feel very worm like (see image below).

I also get aching when this happens, thankfully it isn't common as it used to be  :)

Glad to hear you are stable. Since being diagnosed I barely had sex. Since last weekend I've had it a few times this week. Two of the occasions I lost my "mojo" half way through but that may have been psychological as I recovered after foreplay to carry on. Hoping it at least starts to improve soonish just to show me there is a light. I'm still capable of sex but it's not as enjoyable as it usually is as it's always on my mind and it's a challenge getting it in comfortably
