Hello all, first off I have to say I'm relieved to find a community who understands what this experience is like.  I hope we can all learn from one another and offer support, because I feel like I desperately need it right now.

Some back story: I was having intercourse with my girlfriend and I essentially missed my target.  I immediately noticed discomfort and swelling, but was able to maintain a rigid erection.  I wasn't experiencing any pain, I was able to urinate fine (no blood) but wanted to know why I had a swollen lump the size of an orange on my penis.

I went to the hospital and was seen by several specialists before they decided I needed an exploratory surgery to see what had happened.

My doctor described the procedure as a rather simple one, they would make an incision like they would to perform a circumcision (I'm not circumcised) and see if I had ruptured or "fractured" anything.  After my procedure my doctor told me that he didn't find anything alarming and no signs of a penile fracture.

I feel like I made a mistake in choosing to go through with the exploratory procedure, as I am now about 3 inches shy of what I used to be, and now I have a pretty severe curve to the left which begins towards the center of my penis.  I don't know if it's a result from the trauma of missing my target or the procedure, but nonetheless, something isn't right.

It's been almost 7 weeks post-op, and multiple urologists have told me they wanted to wait and see what happens.  The most helpful thing they've told me was to take over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication as needed in order to reduce the swelling (ibuprofen).  I'm still experiencing discomfort, and some pain when I get erect.  Getting erections isn't hard to achieve for me, but they aren't nearly as rigid as they used to be.  Intercourse is still out of the question for me at this stage.

I want to know, is there anything I can and should be doing right now to stay on top of this?  It's too soon for surgery, but how about drugs like pentox? Traction therapy or VED? Anything I can go back to my doctors with so that they can help me be proactive with this? Any guidance would be very appreciated!

Hi Rampage,
Most urologists familiar with this disease will do a scan as well as exam while flaccid and erect to look and feel for plague formation as a first step in diagnosis.Good Luck
