New and starting Xiafles injections

I am a new member to the forum.  My Peyronies was caused by penile fracture.  Initial curvature was at least 75 degrees. That's just based on observation, no actual measurement.  After consulting with two different urologists, I decided to treat the condition with Xiaflex.
I had my first series of 2 injections of six weeks ago.  When I went to the doctor to start the second round of injections, the doctor said the curvature was still at least 75 degrees.  (He gives me a shot to give me a partial erection so he can more easily find the plaque.)  So, although it seemed to me that the plaque seemed softer, less pronounced, the curvature is about the same. It's difficult to tell because the degree of curvature varies depending on the extent of my erection.  The firmer the erection, the more extreme the curvature.
I am concerned that trials showed roughly 35% correction on average.  A 35% improvement of a 75 degree curvature is still about 50 degrees.  I am receiving the injections at Uromedix in Pembroke Pines, FL, USA.  Fortunately, everything has been covered by my insurance except for office copays of $50.00 when I go in to receive the injections.

Unfortunately no. I have no insurance and my daughter not yet 8, so my priorities are there :)

Thanks James1947 - Had my second set of two injections.  This time, they were only two days apart.  The second injection hurt more than any previous ones had.  Doctor commented on lessening of scar tissue.  There is definitely an improvement in the amount of curvature but still a lot.  I would guess I'm at maybe 60 - 65 degrees now compared to at least 75 - 80 degrees when I started.  So improvement half way through treatments.  We'll just have to see whether it is enough improvement when all four sets of injections are done.

HS,

You will see more improvement in the later cycles. It takes a few cycles to soften the plaque. My URO said my plaque was almost non-existent along the majority of the top which was the majority of my plaque. I have one stubborn area along the side and top that still causes curvature, but I am in the 30 degree range where I used to be around 50 degrees. The majority of my reduction happened after the 4th cycle.

HS... Hang in there!  I agree with QuackAttack.... the further you go the better the results.  I completed my 4th cycle (last one) approx 6 weeks ago and have been pleased with the results.  I started with an approx (45 degree) curve downwards and am at a 15-20 degree bend now.  Not perfect but much better.  From my experience make sure you use the coflex wrap (see QuackAttack's posts on this).  I didn't until my last cycle and really wished I knew about it earlier.... definitely helps with the swelling. Modeling is key.
