Firstly,

This forum has been an amazing resource for me, especially given the anxiety that a fresh diagnosis of Peyronies Disease produces.

I'm 50, in very good general health, Im very physically active and started having mild pain (aching) about 6 months ago while flaccid.

About 3 months ago I started having pain with erections in my sleep that would wake me up.
I began to notice a thickening around my urethra just below the head, and immediately thought I had cancer.

My GP waved it off and couldn't feel anything unusual, but I knew something was wrong.

I left his office hoping that whatever it was would just go away. It didn't. It got much worse.

About 4 weeks later I returned to my GP after having researched the best urologist in the city.
I made it easy for the GP to make the referral and he did.

3 weeks later I saw the Uro and he diagnosed me with Peyronies Disease. I was relieved that it wasn't cancer and he gave me a script for Pentox and sent me on my way with a follow up appt. 3 months later. As I left his office I thought that it was great that this drug would fix me up in 3 months and Id be back to normal.

Later that week, I found this site. It was a shock to discover just how difficult this condition can be to treat.

I had no problem with ED ( just pain ) before the diagnosis but now I'm so rattled that 100 insatiable supermodels couldn't get me going.

The swelling around my urethra started to grow and become hard about three weeks ago and I was having pain while flaccid almost constantly. I wasn't waking up with painful erections because I don't think I was having any.

The psychological effect of this rotten Peyronies Disease has been immense for me.

Luckily, though, this site and all the information available here started to give me some hope.

My Uro had explained the process of disease progression to me but I don't think I heard any of it. I was just so relieved that it wasn't cancer. I vaguely recall some stuff about injections and implants but I think my brain just blocked out all the nasty stuff.

So... I've been on Pentox for about 4.5 weeks. I'm in the acute phase and I have good days and bad. So far more bad than good. No bending, waisting or dimpling though. Just pain.

Thanks to the advice on this site, I bought some vitamin K (MK-7 natto), Co-enzyme q10 (liquid gel form) and vitamin D3. I've been icing with a cold pack daily for about an hour at day.

While the Pentox was not really doing much seemingly so far, the K/Q10/D3 has had a remarkable effect in only 3 days. The swelling has gone down at least 50% and the plaque seems much softer.

I had nocturnal erections the last 2 nights and was able to have sex with my partner. I don't think I was 100% hard, but pretty close.

I'm very happy about the results of the Pentox/Vitamin combo but its early days yet.

My question(s) to the PDS hive mind is this: Should I ask my Uro for Cialis when I see him in 7 weeks? Would a pump be a good idea if I have no bend? Does icing with a cold pack do damage to the delicate vessels in the penis?

Thanks in advance for any advice and I just want to say what a fantastic resource this site has been. Knowledge is power. Thanks everybody for sharing your experiences.

In acute stage you want to make sure to not aggrevate the issue and tissue even more.
Pumping might help but not neccesarily if it creates more inflammation.

In my opinion you could have good effects by using some supplements that lower the inflammation with DMSO which penetrates deeper into tissue locally. (check alternative treatments forum for that)
Whatever you do needs research and then carefull consideration.

low dose cialis might help to get a good circulation. Too many inflammatory erections or sex or masturbation is not so good.

I think early stage should be used to bring down inflammation, relax and bring the body into a healthy position overall. All while targeting the site of the plaque with supplements locally.

Ice is good as can be heat.(heat loosens tissue, ice cools down inflammation)
You dont want to get your penis to be cold, so make sure while cooling you still have healthy oxygenated blood flow.

Could you clarify on this point a bit? Heat loosens the tissue, but then won't it make inflammation worse in the acute stage?

Low dose daily cialis can encourage remodeling of the plaque so def ask fir that.  Traction has been found helpful to do the same in the acute phase.  VED could help as well if not overdone.  Sex and masturbation should not aggravate peyronies unless experiencing pain, then stop and try again later. Diclofenac gel may help pain, 1% OTC or 3% Rx.  You've caught this early and have acted right away which is very hopeful.  If does worsen, Xiaflex is an option.

In your opinion, would masturbation in the acute phase cause more inflammation and thus make it worse? Same for erections. I know there's been quit a debate going on around this issue.

If you're experiencing pain I'd stop that session.  Also, don't be rough—use lube, stroke gently, avoid sex w partner on top where you can slip out and get crushed when partner comes back down on you, etc
