Got diagnosed yesterday, knew there was something wrong, but had wrongly assumed it was just one of those age related things that happens to us all. I'm 56 have kids and had a good and varied sex life. Reading through some of the stuff on here and many other places I'm shocked at.
A – That it affects young men as well, some of the stuff I've read is heart-breaking, so in a way I've been lucky.
B – The myriad ways of treating the thing, no-one seems to be able to agree on the best methods. My Dr (urologist) told me to stretch it in the opposite direction to the bend and come back with a photo in 9 months. That's really all he had to offer, on reflection I think its pretty piss poor.
C – I'd never heard of it before, but it can affect 1 in 10 men, where's the outrage and pressure groups?
So if anyone can help as the thought of not having sex again is preying on my mind please do. So far I'm favouring the sonic toothbrush and castor oil methods, as the 2-8 hour day stretching exercises seem a little over the top. I'm afraid I don't have a job where I'd get away with pulling my plonker for 8 hours.

Welcome to the club that no man really wants to be a member of!

Did your Urologist give any idea of where you are with the disease?  Still in the active phase? How long have you noticed the problem?

I'd suggest that you read everything you can on the forum. It will help you to see what options may be open to you. You will also begin to understand why there doesn't seem to be any definitive treatment for the disease.

The problem is Peyronies is it's an enigma. What works for one guy does not for another. Which makes it hard to be specific about treatment suggestions.

What is important is penile health and healthy blood flow to the penis. Look at Citrulline Malate, low dose Cialis to help with that.

Read especially  the sections on traction and VED

Many thanks,
no the Dr didn't say what stage, its been noticeable for approx. 3 months and he told me to come back in 9 months.

Castor oil and the toothbrush will probably do zero for you, so that would be a mistake. Evidence based is the way to go.

Your urologist has no idea what he is talking about, but I think you already figured that one out for yourself.

A VED will only take 20 minutes of your day, so that would probaby be your best bet. That said, I think traction is by far the superior treatment.

For oral treatments, Trental and daily cialis are what I would recommend first off. You can read more about supplements etc in the oral treatments section.

If you don't mind reading research papers the link in my signature is worth a read.

Wrong answer!

He clearly knows very little about the disease. Nor, from your comments, appears to care too much.

As Skunkworks says, Trental ( pentoxifylline) works in helping some guys.

many thanks,
have read through the VED section, again a lot of contradictory stuff. I know you probably cant make any product recommendations, but I think I'd prefer the manual version. Could anyone make a suggestion? I'm based in the UK btw.

Personally I think the 'medical' VED systems are incredibly overpriced. I use a simple LeLuv penis pump with a pressure gauge I got from ebay for like $70, and it works much better than the $300+ 'medical' Vitality ved I bought when I first got this condition.

Once you have a VED, I think it best to follow the same method used in the successful VED study. It is also very simple.

Pump to erection, stay at erection for three minutes, let off the pressure then repeat. Do two 10 minute sessions of that, per day.

Do what you feel might help you. Try Castor oil with DMSO(research some)for better absorption locally.
You could use a stretching device for 2-4 hours a day.

In my opinion if you are in the early stage you have the biggest potential to contain and influence. The lets wait until it reaches the finalized stage from docs is insane. If I had known right away what Im dealing with Im sure I would have less work and stress later on with it.

gpguinn;
I think the best thing you can do is stop stretching and bending your penis and find a real Peyronie's specialist. taking E-Vitamin, pentox, potaba could help.
the first step should be find out do you have any plaque,  is it classified? what is the size of plaques?

james1947

Vitamin E will not help with Peyronies but will not make any damage also.
Potaba/Paba have very low success rate, close to zero, expensive and you have to take huge quantity.
A search on the forum will show the above

James

Age 71, Peyronies from Jan 2009 following penis fracture during sex. Severe ED.
Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.
Got amazing support on the forum

vitamin e is useful transdermal locally applied. If just ingested it will get wasted systemically and not much will arrive at the tunica.
