Hello all. Richard here. I'm 48 years old and new to the Forum. Just came across it a few days ago, and I've been looking around every since. Seems like a real great group you got here. Lots of information, as well as support. Which is a relief since I recently discovered I probably have Peyronie's disease.

2 weeks ago I noticed a busted vein on the top of my penis shaft about an inch behind the head.

1 week ago it became an indentation.

Today I noticed my penis was slightly angling downward when erect, and had another indentation underneath parallel to the indentation on top. So far I don't have any problem getting an erection, but it's honestly the last thing I want to do right now. Today is the first day I felt any sensation of pain, but that only happened after I placed a warm compress on my penis. I can feel a small calcification lump in between where the two indentations are. I had read in an article that heat therapy could help lessen the initial calcification.

Needless to say, and I'm sure everyone here can relate, I'm feeling pretty much devastated. But the information here has made me feel a little bit better at least. So Monday morning I'm going to make an appointment to see a urologist. I get all of my medical benefits through the Veterans Administration Hospital. So anyone familiar with them knows that don't always go as planned. But from what I've gathered, it's looking like I should do these things to start:

1. Make appointment to see urologist. Then ask urologist to start Pentox and about possibly getting Intralesional Verapamil injections (Recommended by Dr. Levine in this interview from December 2016 - http://www.mypeyronies.com/dr-levine.html) In that intereview he recommends not using Xiaflex due to the cost, and danger of penile rupture.

2. Start taking these suppliments (Also recommended by Dr. Levine in this interview from December 2016 - http://www.mypeyronies.com/dr-levine.html)

- L-Arginine              2000 mg
- L-Citrulline             1000 mg
- L-Carnitine Tartate  1000 mg

(These are the levels contained in the name brand supplement "Stronvivo" which Dr. Levine recommends in the previous interview I mentioned, but that supplement costs almost $200.)

3. Start using a traction device. Dr. Levine recommends the PeniMaster Pro in that December 2016 interview I mentioned earlier, and I've found a few treads here recommending the same. Just ordered the PeniMaster Pro, should arrive in 2 weeks.

4. Try not to freak out.

Sorry if this is so long winded. I have no idea what I'm doing right now, so I only mention Dr. Levine because I've seen quite a few threads refer to his work, and he seems to always pop up on other forums and articles relating to this. I'm a total newbie in regard to all this, so I'm sure there's a ton of things I should be doing besides just these. But I figured I'd better start somewhere, or go crazy worrying.

Been wondering about the application of heat to the calcified area (rice sock). It causes a slight increase in pain currently, but I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts/experiences.

Hi 27richards, Stronvivo sounds expensive for what it is, think you could buy all Ingredients separately at fraction of $200, them being;

L-Arginine
L-Citrulline
L-Carnitine Tartrate
Magnesium and Zinc.

I use the following doses;
L-Arginine 2x 500mg
L-Citrulline Malate 3 grams x 3 per day in powder form (much cheaper than pills)
L-Citrulline converts in the body to L-Arginine via the Kidneys and then the chemical Nitric Oxide, it is for heart and blood vessel health
Acetyl L-Carnitine 2 x 1000mg
Magnesium Chloride, Ionic (liquid) with trace minerals
DMSO2, otherwise known as MSM in powder form
Zinc, 15mg with copper, cycled, one day on, one day off*
Saw Palmetto with Bearberry and Pumpkin seed oil combined**

*Generally best to cycle all supplements, I tend to take Mon-Friday and stay off supplements Sat-Sunday

**Some men experience GIU with Saw Palmetto but it is good (for me) for Prostate health

Be careful with interactions of blood thinners (pentox for example) and supplements as that can lead to your blood pressure dropping too low, it can restrict the amount of blood flowing to your brain and other vital organs, which can cause unsteadiness, dizziness or fainting.

Please consider anything I have said as advisory as I am not a Doctor just a sufferer as well  :)

Hope your appointment with the Urologist goes well  :)

Are you going to use a veterans urologist or the veterans Choice program? I am using the choice program to be able to see a Peyronies Disease specialist. The VA urologist was a five months wait. With the veterans Choice program since I was already using it it took me two and a half months to see a Peyronies Disease specialist. I would do everything you can in the meantime before you see someone. Just be prepared for the wait involved.

Thank you Paolo. I purchased most of the supplements separately already. I'm already taking fish oil, turmeric, and D3. Definitely concerned about the blood thinning.

Hello Mischa. I'm not familiar with the Veteran's Choice Program. I'm here in St. Louis, MO. I receive 100% disability due to past injuries suffered in the USMC. But none relate to the Peyronies. I'll have to check on the Veteran's Choice to get more info. Because I'm sure the VA will be a disaster helping me with this.

Thanks 27richards, you are welcome. I have a HUGE respect for all serving and past military personnel, you guys deserve the highest regards :)

I too use a lot of Turmeric, also lots of ginger root which I wizz in a blender, make sure you cycle the D3. As a precaution twice a Week I take Milk Thistle to protect the Liver  :)

Thanks again Paolo. I've only been taking the D3 this winter due to not getting out of the house very often, but am planning to stop in two weeks. Might as well stop now though considering everything else I'm taking. Thanks again!

Hi 27richards, I have sent you a post (look under 'my messages' tab) regarding Vitamin D3

Hope you find it useful :)
