Thought I owe this group an update on my current situation after over an year of being diagnosed and done the treatment as well as sharing what I believe is the cause and cure for this disease.

My treatment consisted of:

Trental 400 x 3 a Day
Acetyl L Carnitine
Citruline Malate

I got an hourglass shape at first with no calcification. As the treatment progressed the right side got straight and later the left side also straightened. I still have a slight upwards curvature but it has no interference neither with my sexual performance nor mental condition.

One advice that I would like to leave for you all, not mentioned above is: Your diet is the key; not only to the cure but probably the cause of it. - I strongly recommend reading Fasting and Eating for Health by Joel Fuhrman.

After reading and understanding this book you might as reflect to your diet and see how toxic it was through your life and that changing is the way to naturally improve and prevent it.

Hope you all can find a satisfactory response to your situation

FriskyDingo

I agree 100% that diet is key. Im not sure what the author of your proposed book describes proper nutrition as, but proper eating and avoidance of highly inflammatory processed voids is vital.

I would also recommend fasting. I practice a restricted time feeding fasting, where I eat once a day or twice a day(within a 6 hour window). Those interested should do their research concerning this topic, as the potential health benefits are quite extensive.

Azimute

Hi FriskyDingo,

You are spot on when referring to fasting. The author, Joel Fuhrman, is an advocate for health eating and one of his books also covers the healing benefits of fasting. For those interested in knowing the book, I am posting a link:

http://www.amazon.com/Fasting-Eating-Health-Medical-Conquering/dp/031218719X

Basically, when our body/digestive system is not busy digesting food, it has time to work detoxing the body. And when fasting (up to 21 days he claims - but under medical supervision) the body starts feeding itself from plaques and other substances inside, so you peyronies plaque could easily be eaten by your body and no need to take any pills, do surgery, get depressed, anxious...

Ps. Cardio problems also get sorted through the diet (Blood pressure, blocked arteries, cholesterol...) It is a MUST read and I am very convinced that could be the answer (simple, by the way) to our problem.

I will try fasting and will then let you guys know how I went.

Hi Azimute,

I am glad you got much better if not cured. I am curious when you said "I got an hourglass shape at first with no calcification." I have an hourglass as well, and also with no calcification whatsoever. The base of my penis engorges, then suddenly it narrows towards the glans, and then the glans engorges again. Then as I get a full erection, the "effect" disappears. Is this the same you had? Od did you had the hourglass mainly or only during full erection?

Also, you did not mention the dose of Citruline and Carnitine.

I am also interested on the fasting thing. Will read on it.

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I was at Dr. Joel Fuhrman forum, and it was only one guy asking about peyronies. His answer was:

"Clearly this is uncharted water. I think the "plaque" in this disease is something like scar tissue, so one long fast is not likely to break it up. However, I was thinking of a superior diet, and episodic fast of only a few days in length to continue to stir detox pathways and accelerate self-healing. I don't know if it will work, but you have to do something that might help as you look for other answers."

And that answer was from 2012.

I'm down with intermittent fasting, very good for health. Zero grains, lots of grass fed meat and nutrient high sugar low fruit and veg.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

I engage in 24hr fasts 4 days of the week. Ill eat my last meal midday or at night then not eat again for another 24 hours. I have done this for 6 months. I have not seen an improvement in my corporal fibrosis from doing this. This does not mean you cannot do a longer fast and not see results, but for what I do I doubt it will make my body recycle the fibrosis.

One must understand that, when scar tissue is removed, it must be replaced with something else (hopefully healthy tissue). Therefore, the rate of healing is dependent on both the scar removal and the tissue replacement.

It is impossible for me to do a multi-day fast. I work on my feet 50hours a week doing semi-physical labor. I would not be possible to do this kind of work while fasting for too long. The longest I have fasted was 36hr, and I did not feel like I was working to my fullest potential during the last 12 hours of that fast.

I still feel that fasting does have incredible health benefits and I would recommend it. But I would not want anyone to believe that the intermittent fasting that I do would reverse corporal fibrosis. Maybe it can affect 'normal' peyronie plaques, but I doubt it will reverse corporal fibrosis.

krazylord

Hi Frisky,

Thanks for your advise. I do have very mild corporal fibrosis, and also my unit has all kind of nasty deformations in semi-regid (all gone with ful erections) which means I might have tunica fibrosis somewhere even though nobody could see it in US images. Also, I have a Peyronies Disease plaque at the base.

I have been 9 months on pentox and cialis (some weeks in between off due to vacation) and nothing improved. If anything, it got worse.

I am planning to do a long fasting in a retreat in northern California, followed by a 100% plant-based and juice diet. I will then go back to Dr. tome Lue in Sept to make another US image to see if there is any objective improvement in the plaque size and corporal fibrosis.

It makes sense to me that scar tissue/fibrosis/dead tissue might be something the body can fight if given what it needs, and fasting might be a little help for it, based on all I have read about it.

Freemason

I hate this fricking disease.

Freemason

Didn't know where to put this so here is as good as any I guess...I was reading up on some essential oils and stuff and read up on this flower oil. I'm going to try a combo of SOD(super oxide dismutase that contains other stuff..Vit A, Vit E, olive oil, etc..and maybe mix in this Herbal oil then apply Absorbine Jr. to penetrate...Absorbine has several really good herbal compounds for scar healing and anti inflammatory stuff. Idk if this is a good idea or not cause pretty sure Absorbine will get stuff in there. Hope I'm ok to post this info..

In addition to helping heal wounds, helichrysum also helps to fade scars, heal stretch marks, and reduce the appearance of surgical scars and skin blemishes. It's one of the few essential oils that contain "diketones," which help reduce scar tissue and stimulate the growth of new skin tissue. In fact, a study published in 2001 found that helichrysum oil was exceptionally high in tissue-regenerating diketones that help stimulate regrowth.

FriskyDingo

Freemason, interesting find on helichrysum. I wonder if it can penetrate deep enough for corporal fibrosis. Let us know how it works for you.

I will continue fasting the rest of my life. But I dont think fasting alone will cause my corporal fibrosis to disappear. I think the scarring that is corporal fibrosis is too structurally important to be simply consumed by the body. Im guessing it will take of a mixture of autotraphy (your body consuming uncessary parts during fasting), proper nutrition to rebuild healthy tissue, and some type of physical therapy to health stimulate growth and blood flow to the area.

Unfortunately proper nutrition is extremely tricky. I think proper nutrition is a lot less based on plants than people think. The most convincing evidence I have read shows that animal products are just as important as plants to the human body. Im willing to bet that over 99% of the forum users here never include bone broth / gelatin, liver, heart and other uncommon animal parts into their diet. Bone gelatin alone provides an incredible amount of minerals and amino acids that the body uses to help repair joints, bones, tendons, arteries, ect. So perhaps the dick requires these nutrients as well. Nutrients that one wont find in concentrated or bioavailable forms in plants. This is not to say that plants dont have their place, they certainly do. But I think most of us need to broaden our minds as to what the human body needs, and where those sources of nutrients best come from.

Hi guys,

I have been today 10 days of fasting (6 water-only fasting and 3 dry-fasting without even water). Tomorrow I continue with water up to 30 days. I will be in the True North Center from Friday for the last 2 weeks.

So far, the benefits are:

- hard flaccid improved. My flaccid hangs down more often than before.
- inflammation is reduced in the penis. Looks less swallowed.

The negatives:

- My plaque hasn't changed a bit.
- My deformations have not changed a bit.
- I don't have morning good nor libido

I will post again in about 10 days and then at the end of the fasting.

FriskyDingo

I would expect a loss of libido while long term fasting. Ultimately your body needs some exogenous materials to produce hormones, and while you are fasting there are no incoming exogenous materials.

And in a way you are starving yourself (although controlled and with the purpose of healing). That being said, being horny and starving are not two things I have ever known to exist simultaneously in a person.

krazylord

Thanks Frisky, that makes a lot of sense. I am on day 13th today. Going to the center very soon.

By the way, I found this study about fasting and liver fibrosis: Fasting reduces liver fibrosis in a mouse model for chronic cholangiopathies. - PubMed - NCBI

I would like to try a multi-day fast. Problem is a server/bartender I cant not eat and move around all day and be highly sociable with people. I can do 24 hour fasts, and even then I dont feel as energetic with people as I would like to be.

krazylord

Thanks for the link skun. Have already seen it. It looks promising.

I am on day 17th Frisky. No big news to report, other than the ones I already provided. I will wait until I finish my refeeding and I am back home to report back, which will be at the end of the month.

I really wanted to try this and I am into it. Got medical leave for it, since you need to be off-work to let your body heal.

krazylord

Just giving you some heads up. After 20 days, unfortunately I have not had any release in the Peyronie's symptoms. Scar same size, deformations the same. I got my penis finally pointing down more times, specially when I am not stressed and relaxed, but thats about it.

I will do 5 more days and then refeed. At least I tried.

Freemason

Krazy...are u saying u went 3 days without water or food? Your 10 day progress post? Don't think that's even possible..well it is but you would be incredibly dehydrated and prob near hospitalization no?

krazylord

Hey Freemason,

Today is my day 20 water-only fasting. From these 20 days, 3 were dry-fasting (no water at all). You don't die. It is done a lot in Russia. Some books about it you can get. I was totally fine and I am fine now.

This was just something I wanted to try to help the body heal some of my penis issues.

kuaka

Water fasting is to me not a good idea.  Certainly no more than three days maximum.

Water only is fine.  I've gone 21 days water only, and the following 19 juices only for a total 40 days without actual food.  I was much younger then, and on a spiritual quest.  It was successful.

After day 3 of water only you switch to a ketogenic lipolysis...fat burning...mode.  That switch comes with a nasty headache, but once done with that you aren't really hungry afterwards.  After 21 days, you will start consuming muscle tissue if you take in zero calories.  I know a man who does a water only 40 day fast every year though.  I would really need a motivation to do that.  I'm doing good to make 6 or 7 days these days...but I'm 15 years older than I was when I did the 40.
